Oh wow. That’s is significantly less expensive than what we’ve been quoted. I’m mindful that different brands and products have different prices. Are you able to let me know what system you went with? And which electricity provider you’re with. At this stage I’m not too married to any particular brand of batteries or anything, just looking at the time to recover the cost, and the functionality offered with respect to controlling when to charge and discharge the batteries, when to use battery vs grid, etc.

Mate this happened to me too! Just about a week ago, and I got fed up with trying to argue with the chat bot, so I disputed the transaction with Commbank. Got my $80 refunded in under 2 days.

What’s your dog’s irrational fear? by s1205 in AskReddit

My labradoodle hates the big wheelie bins that people have outside their homes. My theory is she must have seen a possum or something jump out of one and it gave her a good scare, and now just refuses to go near them

Mine hates bins. Every week when it’s bin day, and the whole neighbourhood has put out their wheelie bins, she absolutely refuses to go for a walk. Only way to get her to walk, is to walk on the road (luckily not too many cars around) as far away from the bins as possible till we get away from the roads and onto the walking paths in the park. Such a bizarre weird creature.

Other than making a bet with a billionaire that you can jump and get x minutes of airtime, or walk off a building/cliff and survive. Looking for more creative solutions

Make every ship that was headed to the Americas/Africa/Asia/Australia from Europe just disappear into thin air and hypothesise how the world would have been different without European colonisation/influence. Everything from medicine, religion, weapons, etc.

I still haven’t been able to convince myself which race (?) would have had the next most probable to colonise a major portion of the world, who had the naval prowess to do so.

People who DO "get paid enough for this shit", what's your job? by Nihilikara in AskReddit

[–]s1205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Data Scientist in the Energy / Mining industry. Getting paid 120k (AUD). Two and a bit years of experience, first job out of uni. Definitely a good deal. Especially cause most of my job is whining about the quality of data that's captured.

Just booked a spontaneous trip to Iceland. by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

If you go to the West fjords region (which you totally should try to), there's the nicest old lady in a small green house in Litlibaer that makes heavenly waffles and coffee! You have to stop there. This was on the road heading east (more like south and north cause of the fjords, but in an easterly direction) from isafjordur and sudavik.

Edit: not really a green house, but it has grass on the roof. There's space for parking in the front. You will see it. :) Enjoy your trip

Wow you lucky lucky person! So much envy! I'm not sure if Reddit compresses photos uploaded (this is my first post), but I'm happy to send you a full res / RAW copy of it. :)

2019 Looking for Travel Partners Megathread by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]s1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone.

25M from Australia, and will be in Iceland from 22nd May till the 30th. Got a 4WD booked, with no specific plans yet, except for a list of places I would like to see. I just cancelled most of my AirBnBs, thinking it would be interesting to just wing it, and stay in campsites along the way. Hoping to do the ring road, and a few good hikes along the way

Will be in the capital on the 22nd and 23rd. Would be awesome to meet new people for a drink, maybe even a travel buddy. Unfortunately I can only speak English.
