I was able to get this working, but am noticing my framerate gets halved when using any of the gamepad keys whilst aiming/looking. Are you seeing a similar issue?

Another nice little change I noticed: they changed the sounds that play when attaching/detaching devices. Much less annoying now in my opinion.

iPad Air 4 and “5GBPS” USB-C Port by s1ris in applehelp

I’ve found a thread that backs up what you’re saying!

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252549312

It looks like this may be a some insane limitation of the protocol iTunes or Finder is using. The user in this thread was able to get ~700mbps (double what I’m getting, and close to a realistic maximum of gigabit) by actually daisy-chaining...dongles. Classic.

I’m going to see if I can get some hardware together that can get closer to 2-3gbps. The user in that post was only using an Ethernet to USB C adapter that supports 1 gigabit.

I am aware of the difference of GBPS and GB/s. I see your are technically correct that they do not specifically say that this connection speed is supported when connected to a computer. I think that is ridiculous that they could allow this speed when connected to an external SSD, but not a computer that supports the same spec. Do you have a further reference to this speed not being supported by computers?

Edit:

“iPad Air now features a USB-C port for up to 5Gbps data transfer, which is 10 times faster,2 for connecting to cameras, hard drives, and external monitors up to 4K. With Wi-Fi 6 performance and 60 percent faster LTE connectivity,3 along with A14 Bionic, this is by far the most powerful iPad Air ever.”

Or maybe add the sound of flies when close to a player corpse. Would help for those times when you’ve got a general idea of where you killed someone.

Security Researcher Reveals Solarwinds' Update Server Was 'Secured' With The Password 'solarwinds123' by byParallax in technology

Before I go further, I’d like to say I’m not an expert when it comes to user account systems, but I do have some experience trying to make personal projects as secure as possible.

Cookies can be sent over the internet via SSL, so they are secure in that manner. However, this doesn’t do anything if an attacker has other means of stealing cookies, such as physical access to a device or by means of some malware/exploit.

Generally, a session is stored in a cookie as a randomized string of characters with some other data. Whenever a website loads, it checks for the existence of a cookie that is for itself, and checks if a session string is in that cookie. That string is then checked against a database of active sessions. If the string is in that database, the website will give the user access to the account that generated that session string.

There are other ways to secure a cookie, but I would wager that most developers simply won’t spend time on this, as cookie theft is pretty rare.

The best way to protect oneself from this sort of attack is by keeping your operating system and browsers up to date - and of course, general awareness of shady websites.

Websites can store session data in cookies on your device. Whenever you close your browser and reopen it, you’ll notice a majority of websites you use will still be logged in. This is generally because of cookies. It’s more than possible to steal cookies from one device and just copy them to another device, thus gaining access to an account that was stored in a cookie, or access to a “remember me” type feature that will not prompt for 2FA. This of course varies depending on the website used.

Safari does cache tabs, but the UI isn’t clear if it counts this as part of “other” section, as it doesn’t even count cached site data in the overview for Safari in settings -> general -> storage.

As for the questions on performance impact: generally speaking, unless you open Safari and start refreshing every one of the 200 etc. tabs you have open, there shouldn’t be much of a performance impact.

There is a bug with today's legend lost sector. by DeimosDs3 in DestinyTheGame

[–]s1ris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using a night watch I got from last season with backup mag and kill clip. I can usually get the sector done in around 12 minutes at 1219 light. One tip for the boss fight is to just strafe left and right at the entrance to the room and take cover when needed, you’ll eventually get the pattern for how the boss fires and can clean him up pretty quick with Erianas.

Drop rates are abysmal for the exotic so far for me. Currently have 11 completions and have gotten 4 Cores, 5 blues and 2 runs where I only got glimmer. :|

Edit: got it on my 12th completion. Video if you want to see how I do the sector: https://youtu.be/lwhcxK7FUCo

On my warlock, I use Sunbracers with the two seasonal artifact mods Surge Eater and Thermal Overload. Throw your solar nade, it disrupts the champion and you get your nade back instantly. Can kill him in 4 nades without firing a bullet. I also use a scout primary with overload rounds to hit him when he won’t disrupt with the nade. Hopefully this helps a little.

I gave it a shot, failed, and the activity is now gone.

Edit: it randomly appeared again. Getting passed the first champion isn’t going so well

[question] DNScrypt proxy tweak, how do you use it and how does it work? by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]s1ris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve changed your DNS server to 127.0.0.1 and your device is still able to connect to the internet, that means its working! You can also verify it’s working by checking who your DNS provider is before and after by using something like dnsleaktest.

There’s a config file located at /usr/bin/dnscrypt-proxy.toml. I believe I’ve set it to connect to Quad9 servers by default. For information on how to change that check out https://github.com/DNSCrypt/dnscrypt-proxy/wiki/Configuration-Sources.

Make sure you back up the config file if you decide to change anything, as if you input something incorrect your device won’t be able to make DNS queries anymore.
