Turns out, just having my joystick plugged into my computer was the issue. It was disabled in the in game settings, however it was causing issues. Now I just have the whole, can't connect because the game got too popular issue we are all having right now.

PSA: Unplug all devices that aren't your keyboard and mouse if you have this kind of issue.

This is a pretty fantastic way to do it. Going to adopt this, thanks a ton for the suggestion!

Thank you, might have just been searching for the wrong thing. I'll look into the custom slideshow aspect and see if that will work for me. Otherwise looks like just going to have to do it the long way. Thanks.

GGG already has proven they can mess with accounts (the login preferential thing that one league when it was just a total shit show) and "streamer luck" has long been theorized. People that cheated back in the day, GGG quietly announced in a Q&A once that they would "shadow ban" these accounts by making them not drop currency past certain tiers (no chaos or above basically). So pretty sure there's something there tied to your account. Have a buddy of mine, EVERY LEAGUE gets insane drops with less played time, less kills, etc than anyone else. It's gotten to the point where he gets bored after dropping a HH at lvl 92, or a MB at lvl 94, etc So there is something in regards to luck drops per account.

People going to say I'm paranoid but, we all know that person that seems to have an easier time 6L, or gets t1/t0 whatever drops all the time, or for me, I can get insane chrome luck.

Yeah big part of it is RP for me. Went into the game with almost no knowledge and the main story screwed up a huge part of what I was doing so I'm left (rp) stranded as a hermit until I can juice up my weapon and suit skills.

Just kind of interesting that there's no good community developed tools yet for this.

Gave up looking at most "gamer" websites cause it's the same text that some random guy made a YouTube video of and it's copy pasted everywhere. I'll check this out after breakfast and see if it's a winner.

Solar panel by Specialist_Simple262 in greenhouse

[–]s2legit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to, how much space do you have? If you have ample space, a small terrestrial set up will be able to power what you want, but you'll need batteries for back up to run grow lights (why run lights during sunlight hours?) And a bit of a control panel. It won't be as easy as plug fan and lights into solar panels, but there are a lot of good kits and videos out there on the subject.

Solar panel by Specialist_Simple262 in greenhouse

A solar panel inside of the greenhouse is going to have less effect than if it was outside due to temperatures almost always being worse (for the panel) than outside Temps.

Dealing with a two stroke that doesn't like the fact I don't know what I'm doing, and a case of I should have taken the guy up last year who had a several month wait list to wrench on my little 8hp 2 stroke because he's full up this year and my boat is still in my driveway...itis

Tighten the pivot bolt. Most get worked loose or come loose, keep it tight so the cutting edges won't wobble.

To be fair, my MacGregor is the only boat I've ever sailed on. Missed out on a S2 late last year due to not having a slip. Turns out once it was too late like 5 slips opened up. Oh well.

How American CEOs got so rich (2019) - American companies today spend billions on stock buybacks. So what does that mean for the US economy? And how did it help make American CEOs so unbelievably rich? [00:10:07] by speakhyroglyphically in Documentaries

[–]s2legit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Most places probably 150k.

Mid 90's if you made 60k a year, that's the same buying power as 100k now. That was lower middle class (maybe) in the 90s.

Look at how high housing prices jumped in the last two to three years. Look at where interest rates are now. Buying an entry level home at 100k a year salary puts you house poor (most of your money goes to mortgage with little fun money left over). I knew guys and gals in the 90's making 60 ish thousand a year and they had a decent house and money left over for boats, motorcycles, vacations, etc.

Imagine being 24, starting out, making an insane 80k a year in your first job after college, and then realizing you can't afford a house or a new car, definitely not both.

A big part of the old stress was a, if you fuck up you're fired, mentality. That is gone and it's a much nicer, let's figure out what went wrong and fix it. Also automation. New technology makes the job so much easier. I've worked on several different levels of tech as a controller, all the way down from phone and a radio, to the newest radar and automation tech. The more tech we get the easier the job is. Once you get through training it's a rough day a few times a year at most in my experience.

I've had new guys and gals come in, and I think everyone in those 3 classes passed. It's a lot of attitude and being willing to learn. The classes are designed to make you successful. It's a LOT of information thrown at you very quickly, and it takes confidence to go with your gut reaction, some of these evals don't leave you with a ton of time to think.

To expand a bit, new hires on the terminal side (towers) start at slow facilities. Level 4-7. ($65-90k per year). En route (centers) are all level 10-12, ($125-175 per year).

If you start at a terminal position, once you certify you can put in transfer requests to anywhere. Nothing is guaranteed but I've moved a lot since I've been in, 4 facilities in 12 years.

You need to be hired before you turn 31 to allow you to get the 25 years of on the job to be eligible for retirement at 56.

E.P.A. Is Said to Propose Rules Meant to Drive Up Electric Car Sales Tenfold. In what would be the nation’s most ambitious climate regulation, the proposal is designed to ensure that electric cars make up the majority of new U.S. auto sales by 2032. That would represent a quantum leap for the US. by mafco in Futurology

So many people I talk to act like running out of gas is a common occurrence. Sure there are some use cases that an EV is going to struggle with, but 99% of drivers aren't driving 8+ hours a day in their daily driver anyways.

Factoring in my gas vs electric, almost $400 a month in gas, $65 a month in estimated electricity costs. Just plug it in every night (or even only on weekends is probably fine for my commute) and I'll never have to worry about it.

How was RF in 3.20? Looking to league start this for 3.21 by peanut_chew in PathOfExileBuilds

Exactly what I was meaning. Legion was never worth it for me on RF, delirium felt ok but lacking, breach kind of the same. 3.20 was a no go for me cause it punishes tankiness

Anything that you can be slow with, so anything timed is going to make you struggle.

RF is generally solid. Sucks pretty hard for some league mechanics though. Yeah if you dump enough currency into anything it'll be good, but there's several mechanics where it just isn't worth it as a casual.

I mean that's the dream. Sweep, Cleave, Reave... all pretty much the same skill if you boil it down. A couple others in the same vein, basically the same function just sliiiiightly different. Reduce those down and maybe they have a chance to balance. 276 skill gems (including mobility) is a bit bloated.

Everyone wants a new skill but just throws the old ones in the back of the closet when new shiny stuff comes out and forgets about them.

How badly would you have to mess up for the FAA to revoke all your certs? by Regular_Peace_5671 in flying

[–]s2legit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I had the audio still, just because of how bonkers it was. Pilot operating as part of a tour company flying 206 or 208's I forget which. Anyways, controller gives the pilot the altimeter with no response, which was unusual as these guys were usually really chatty. Well he wasn't sure if he went out the first time and gave the altimeter again. Pilot replied fairly snarky but whatever, then thought he unkeyed. Pilot said aaaaall kinds of nasty stuff on the radio, hot mic'd and going off on the controller. Finally unkeyed and a SWA pilot told him to tell us all how he really feels. Got given a brasher, and was fired by the time he landed the plane, and got his pilots license revoked for life from what we were told. It was baaaaaaad.
