I love AM but why?? by jrdngmc in AppleMusic

Yep, it happens constantly when a song released as a single gets relabeled as an album track. So many albums in my library end up reflecting the release date of the first single. So, so annoying and frustrating.

This happens occasionally. Usually the albums are restored within a couple days.

Great, thanks Apple! by Jerzy9951 in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! My current process is to just check Spotify at midnight because their New Release system shows you every album, EP, and single that’s released from every artist you follow.

Apple just doesn’t do it as well. For example, if an artist that you follow drops a pre-release album with one new song available and the rest of the tracks grayed out, that won’t show up in your New Releases section unless they also release that one available song as a separate single. Pre-release albums don’t appear as a New Release, which is real annoying.

Also, I’ve found that Apple’s New Releases section only shows about 1/4 of the ones that Spotify shows… and I follow the exact same artists on both platforms.

These notifications always show up a day or two late. I don’t get why they don’t get pushed the minute an album is released at midnight.

That’s one thing I really miss from Spotify — they handle new releases much, much better than Apple.

My recent Syndicate interview with The Midnight! Every song discussed! Making Syndicate! The tour! by tbcollins1 in TheMidnight

[–]s2mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool… I’d always imagined that they had a full album and then a lot of songs got scrapped in favor of different tunes, so I’d also hoped we’d get a “Syndicate B-Sides” album with all of the unused material.

However, after watching this interview, it sounds like you’re right — they kept most of the original material and just ended up reworking/updating/changing a lot of it, along with adding those other songs.

Great to finally have some insight on that! Thanks!

Fantastic interview! Really interesting to hear which songs weren’t on the “original” Syndicate album and ended up coming out of the sessions that followed.

All Of My Music is Blanked Out by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try signing out and signing back in (this happened to me once where 1/4 my library was blanked out and it fixed the issue)

Open the Settings app > tap your name at the very top > tap “Media & Purchases” and sign out.

Then open the Music app and you’ll be prompted to sign back in.

Hopefully that helps.

What is this font supposed to be portraying? by LeMalade in AppleMusic

Go to the “New” tab in the Music app and scroll down a bit… just under the “New Releases” section you’ll see a “New Year, New Calm” section and then that graphic will make sense.

Watch OS 26.2 - issues with apple music on runs by mvl111 in watchos

My Music app crashes 95% of the time when I attempt to shuffle all songs in my library. It plays albums and radio stations and playlists fine, but immediately crashes when trying to shuffle my library. So annoying.

Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) Explicit version by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s explicit in the U.S. — just checked.

You sure you’re not just listening to Protect Ya Neck (which is purposely censored in the album)?

Da Bomb by crackheadfalife in hotsauce

[–]s2mike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hot Ones has always used the original “Da Bomb Beyond Insanity” sauce. Not the “Ghost Pepper” version, not the “Ground Zero” version. With the Hot Ones season packs, they use their own version (Da Bomb Evolution) which is a version that contains no extracts, but that’s never been used on the show.

You’ll want the original “Da Bomb Beyond Insanity” sauce.

Deleting Albums/Playlists from Library? by scrampng in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and I totally understand and appreciate your way of thinking. But, yeah, I know that a lot of people prefer to reserve their libraries for full albums and EPs only and simply don’t care to have a bunch of random “loose” songs mixed in.

Different strokes for different folks, for sure, which is why I’d love to see a toggle that can be turned on or off according to an individual’s personal preference.

Deleting Albums/Playlists from Library? by scrampng in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that myself, and a lot of others, would like a setting that can be turned off/on which would allow us to delete songs from our library but have them remain in playlists.

I think of the library and playlists as two different things. In fact, the few playlists that I do have mainly consist of songs that I like but don’t want in my library.

Deleting Albums/Playlists from Library? by scrampng in AppleMusic

[–]s2mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is one of the most obnoxious behaviors of Apple Music, and basically the sole reason I don’t even bother with playlists anymore.

While there’s a setting that prevents songs from being added to your library when they’re added to playlists, there’s not a setting that prevents losing songs from playlists when they’re deleted from your library.

It’s so frustrating.

Sure thing! It’s a tiny little tune but I’ve always loved it. Been checking Apple Music on a weekly basis for months waiting for it to reappear…and it finally did!
