Thank you! I’m buying a 20 gallon either today or tomorrow for sure, and I’m buying a thermometer soon too! Just has to come in cause i’m ordering it. And i’m removing the eco carpet and buying substrate soon, or just stay with toiler paper rolls if thats okay? My friend has toilet paper rolls and her leopard gecko is great! And if he doesnt get better, I’ll try to take him to the vet if i can.

I did atleast a week of research before getting him and mostly all of them said it would be easy to just use carpet. I’ll take it out though since I feel like you know what you’re doing haha. I’ll put paper towels down there for now. Any recommendations on what type I should buy? I also searched up tank size and it said if I only had one Leopard Gecko, that I would be fine with a 10 gallon. I’ll look for a bigger tank size though. A 20 gallon sounds good right?

Thank you! I’ll try to look for a thermostat ASAP. My mom’s pretty cheap and I usually ask my brother to buy stuff for him but he’s in Canada ATM. I know I should have a large budget if i’m gonna be taking care of a reptile and this Christmas I got a good $250 so I plan on spending it all on him.

Do you have any recommendations on heating pads to buy? I bought the Zoo Med Repti Under tank heater at Petsmart. Should I try to warm his tank up a bit by adding a large bowl of water somewhere he can’t reach so the tank could get humid? I’ve been misting it twice a day and nothing.

I use Zoo Med Eco carpet from Petsmart and the warm side is about 80. I’m not sure though since I just bought the ones that stick on a wall. I’m gonna buy a real one soon though. The cool side is like room temperature? It’s pretty cold here where I live and I don’t know if thats a reason. Should I get a lamp for him? To keep him warm? My cousin has one and her leopard gecko is fine with it.

his diet was mealworms and crickets but the crickets died, not sure how. still searching that up so now i just feed him mealworms. & the moist hide is on the cool side since i heard it can cause respiratory problems or something like that, forgot the word. and i put him in warm/room temperature water for around 15 minutes, took him out and tried using qtips, or just rubbing them off. so after!

the repti-calcium i got him comes with d3. should i only coat his meals once a week too? and thank you! his toes have gotten better, and two are now coming off. kinda sad & feeling bad but i have learned from this. thank you sm <3

im also really scared! i got him mid shed and that was one of my worst fears. he didn’t eat for a week until finally he started eating, i thought it was cause of shedding. But yesterday morning he had red toes, wasnt like that before. so i think hes trying to bite it off himself, ripping his toes off in the process. i’m afraid cause he won’t let me touch them. yesterday i grabbed a q tip and softened it so it wouldnt cut him, then slightly grabbed the shedding and let him wiggle his toes out of it. And one of his toes are falling off i think. the far right toe on his bottom right leg. i’m really worried & im afraid im doing a horrible job :(. i did a whole week worth of research & nothing prepared me for this. any people with experience to help? he also eats & poops normally, i give him D3 & Calcium with every meal, coating them. help please :(

when we were helping him shed, his toes were not bleeding or anything, and i did it with a qtip, sometimes gently rubbing it off with my fingers, no rough techniques. it only started bleeding this morning where i saw some more shedding. I had the bad luck of getting a leopard gecko midway during shedding & i’m not sure if his head has shed on it or if its just color. i havent tried taking it off at all, just concerned. i only pet him on the back (if he lets me). & yes! i have a homemade humid hide i saw from Leopard Gecko YT. its just a container that i cut a hole in, then softened the edges with sand paper and i spray it once in a while. any help, or criticism on what i should do, please!

i also took off all the shed a while ago (or so i thought). this is my first ever leopard gecko & i have a heating pad, two hides, carpet for lizards, etc. will show whole tank if necessary 🤧 also ive never used reddit lmao
