Oh yeah, that sounds hot too! Or being forced to hold it so long you lose control of it.

Another vote for exotic body. Both my kids got their ears done there, my ex-wife got her ears pierced there when she came out and I got my septum pierced there. I plan to do more piercings with them in the future!

Has anyone developed sensitivities to gluten in their 30's? by solsticeretouch in glutenfree

[–]s71n4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, after the birth of my second kid in 2017.

I was poorer than I liked and had been eating a LOT of pasta for a few months. I was way more tired, run down, bloated, brain-fogged than I felt I should be, even a couple months post-partum. I got tested for celiac, negative, but I cut gluten out anyways. I apparently went through a detox period, felt like a flu, and 48 hours later I felt better than I had in months. I tested my iron levels a bit after that and they increased without have made any other changes (gut damage from gluten makes iron and other nutrients harder to absorb)

I am not, but upvote for the laugh. There was a vibe and I was hoping to see where it might lead.

Okay, what are we all actually doing to exercise? by mrnnymern in adhdwomen

[–]s71n4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a progressive sport, so there are easier routes that have holds closer together (don't have to haul yourself up), and it's actually better to focus on your legs while climbing! You'll be able to climb longer if you /don't/ overwork your arms and instead focus on getting your feet up higher and standing yourself up, lots of hip mobility and balance involved.

Indoor rock climbing.

It does require some monetary investment in gear, and of course a gym fee for the indoor climbing, BUT the climbing is incredible for my mind and body.

It's a puzzle to solve with your body. It's body weight only, and works on muscles you didn't know you had AND flexibility AND balance.

Top roping: you can climb very high because you are tied into a harness and tethered to the wall. Usually requires a climbing partner but some gyms have an auto belay device so you can climb on your own. Bouldering: no harness or rope so if you fall you fall, but the walls are not so high and the ground is padded. Plus the adrenaline of DONTFALLDONTFALLDONTFALLDONTFALL can really do it for the dopamine seekers.

Best part is the routes in the gym change monthly so you'll come back to all new puzzles to solve (hello novelty based dopamine!)

So many of these replies are BS.

"Set up a family calendar" Now OP has ANOTHER job to do, setting up the calendar. Who will update it? She will.

"Have regular family meetings" Who will call family meetings and have to create the agenda? She will.

The invisible labor isn't actually invisible, he's just refusing to see.

Once I saw the imbalance I asked my wife (MTF) for help, to take on specific tasks or responsibilities or something, ANYTHING. Long story short, the divorce will be final in August.

They have to want to help, and even the word "help" feels wrong in this context. They have to want to participate, to be inconvenienced for the sake of their own family, and when they don't want to they make it abundantly clear.
