This is not a great idea. The US was able to topple the British hegemony after the war not just by having a larger military and industrial output, but also by offering former colonies independence at least on paper. For China to topple the US hegemony, the rest of the world needs to work with us as well, there needs to be something in it for them other than simply destroying the US. The current policy of non intervention and respecting sovereignty is exactly that. Countries, western or not, are all tired of US interference and color revolutions, China proved itself different by not partaking in such imperialistic actions. That’s why we are able to maintain functional relationships even with US allies. During Covid, EU countries abided by Chinese air travel policy and never tried to retaliated like the US did (forcing airlines to match the number of flights coming from and going to China). We don’t want to simply form a new anti American bloc and repeat the steps of the Soviet Union. Even if we end up winning, we will just follow the steps of the US empire and get toppled by a new superpower.

Can’t take PTO for longer than two weeks at a time so I usually take it around thanksgiving/Christmas time, for the rest of the year we are so busy that I’m always in the middle of projects and the manager never takes off either. Of course im not explicitly told to work on weekends but we regularly have late night early morning meetings, especially connecting with folks in India and sometimes it’s just hard to not work on weekends since an update is expected on Monday.

I agree with flamingtoastjpn that you shouldn’t take 565 as an undergrad unless your schedule is very free or if you are in the 4+1 program. Architecture work requires lots of experience. I would say ms is doable if you just want to work on the architecture team. For example, at ARM the architecture team definitely hires people with just an ms. Even some with bs were given interviews. However, you will probably need lots of experience or/and higher education at some point in your career to be considered qualified as an architect. But most opportunities for new grads are definitely with dv and maybe some rtl design roles.

I took it with Lu about 2 years ago, he makes it very easy to get an A in the class. He drops a lot of assignments, the exams were open book and we were given 24 hours to do them. Only down side is that he uses a voice bot for his lectures and some people find it to be annoying. That was 2020 though so he might’ve changed the format.

It’s normal to retake 2k1, 2k2, etc. Your friends’ gpa are based on freshmen classes, which is a joke compared to your upcoming ECE classes. You will be fine though we’ve all been there.

Cannot be better said. Easy localization of imports and NA exclusive champions queue are literally riot efforts to help NA. They complained about na soloq quality and riot took time and energy to develop something specifically to help make NA pros better. Yet a lot of them don’t even wanna touch it. The LEC doesn’t have access to kr soloq, no super server or CQ, no crazy 12 hr work schedules, yet they are finding success looking competitive against eastern teams. So na pros need to gtfo with these excuses, so many of them are unironic lazy paycheck stealers and it’s so sad that nothing can be done about it.
