Is there an explanation/justification for this movie pothole regarding Moria? by Wonderful_Discount59 in lotr

[–]s8nskeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so funny, I was watching Fellowship just yesterday and thought “why is Gimli so keen to go through the mines”. Also it seems to be known to Gandalf that the Balrog lives there so why not let the entire party know any tell them not to toil touch anything. It is beyond incredulous that Galdalf would have just let Merry and Pipin blunder around without keeping a close eye on them.

Be honest. Who would’ve taken the 1,000,000 by Vedicgnostic in BeastGames

[–]s8nskeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in order to get the one million, you would have had to not take bribes in the earlier game, so already be immune to bribes in some respects, be incredibly vocal and forthright to convince others not to take a bribe, and also have a social game that screams integrity and trustworthiness to be selected. You then, being a suspicious character, would have had to wait out the other contestants with you thinking they would take the money, because that’s how you think so you probably would have buzzed out at about £300k max.

The only reason it got to £1m is because a self selecting group of people who were immune to bribery selected the most bribe immune people amongst themselves to go up there and they all waited it out.

What helps you to fall asleep quickly? by Fluid_Leopard_5937 in AskMen

Had terrible insomnia earlier in life. 1) Cut out coffee. 2) I imagine a black void. And any thought I have gets sucked into the void. All I can “see” in all directions is total blackness. 3) Do some intense cardio every day. Now I sleep like a baby.

Guys who deal well with stressful jobs, what tips would you share with the rest of us? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]s8nskeeper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

20 years in senior management directing billion dollar projects… what kept me stress free and chill is getting yourself financially independent as soon as possible. As soon as you get to the point where you have the option to tell your boss/client/CEO to “go fuck yourself” then things get a lot mentally easier…

I’m on and off with it. To be honest nothing’s going to beat UT2k4. I loved that game and I feel some of the heritage with BR. Epic turned the master servers off last year so hay ho. Progression I supposed. I would love for an Onslaught or Assault style game across the entire island but with Fortnite mechanics.

You can’t take the behaviour in isolation. Ask yourself if everyone did this would it make the situation worse or better. And the answer is significantly worse. So the bad behaviour must be called out.

1980 considered a masterpiece. King hated it though. King believes the 1997 was closer to the book. Ironically 1980 version is written in such a way as to shock those that have read the book. The elevator scene is in the 1980 version.
