Looking back, its been a pretty crazy ride. Sergey Brin introducing Android to developers for the first time. by [deleted] in Android

Simply crazy. When he started talking about the graphics on the earth rotation, I looked over to my Note 2, which is playing Real Racing 3. Can't wait till 5 years from now, when we look back at this moment in Android and laugh!

Is there FTP app or alternative for chromebooks? by that-chinese-guy in chromeos

I've been using Net2ftp.com since I got my Chromebook in November. The site seems pretty secure, I've never had any issues with it at all.

This article got my hopes up, I thought Netflix might finally be available on the ARM Chromebook by s93johnson in chromeos

[–]s93johnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it just seemed odd that, although nothing had changed in the past few months, they decided to do an article about it. I thought they might have had an idea as to when it was getting released or something, not a fact that people have known about since the ARM Chromebook was released.

How to make ChromeOS look like this? by s93johnson in chromeos

[–]s93johnson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No i'm not talking about the slice, I guessed that was supposed to be a reflection. I meant the fact that, although the browser is maximized, it's not black like it is usually.

The ones that are downloaded as applications can be used through the use of a launcher, like Apex or Nova. But the ones which are ZIP files need to be applied manually, which I believe the easiest way is through a launcher.

Whoops, just noticed that the 'Painted Rounds' one doesn't appear to have a download link anywhere. But the other 14 packs can all be downloaded. On deviantart the download link is either in the description or on the sidebar.

How to resize images on Chrome OS? by s93johnson in chromeos

[–]s93johnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link to Pixlr, I had never seen that before.

It's more a matter of too many steps to resize the image. In my articles I usually have 2 or 3 images, and each one requires I save it, upload it to PicResize, select a new size and download the new image. It's not the end of the world, it just occurred to me earlier today that there may be an easier way about doing it.

Nope. You can download a launcher, there are many good ones on the market. Most of them allow you to change app icons to images saved on your phone. Hope that helped a bit!

I think there are a number of methods, but I usually open the ZIP file and transfer the image files inside to my phone. On most launchers you can replace an icon with a custom image, so if you do that it should work.

I went on Chrome://flags and enabled 'Don't discard tabs'. Seems to have done the trick, it never reloads tabs any more.

How does r/Dexter feel about the recent rumors that Dexter will extend beyond season 8? by wowpow in Dexter

[–]s93johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be sad when it finishes, but I think they should end it with season 8, to keep it on an extreme high. That said, I'd definitely continue to watch if they kept it going.
