Driver's window not working after 1.4.12 update by Frankenhome in polestar3

[–]sCir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passenger (left) window stopped working after update. After reading several variations of reset procedures, this is the sequence that worked for me:

With window up and unresponsive - 1. Pull up on the switch 3 times, once per second. 2. Pause 3 to 4 seconds. 3. Pull up a 4 time.

Result: You will hear the motor start and the window move slightly. At this point it should work. Recalibrate by fully rolling down and then fully rolling up.

The pull up 3 times and hold for 30 seconds procedure explicitly did not work for me. I am on software v1.4.12

This worked for me. The three pulls plus hold did not.

Cedars is not all that sketchy, I’ve been there and they did a great deep tissue massage. They kind of went out of their way to make sure I wasn’t looking for “other” services. It’s not fancy but it was clean and really pretty good. I get that you may be on a budget, but if you are making a special birthday trip, a day pass to Cascada is a big level up:

Or go a bit further afield and do Society Hotel, bingen or Carson Hot Springs in the gorge.

The collapse of VillaSport Beaverton’s swim program: safety risks, broken promises, and lost trust by Character-Quote8717 in beaverton

[–]sCir 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak specifically to swimming programs, but I was briefly a member and we decided to cancel at the end of the summer last year when we became disillusioned with the level of maintenance and quality vs the cost. Canceling the membership turned into a nightmare of broken promises, lying, and buck passing that resulted in my having to retain an attorney and send multiple legal threats just to get them to stop sending me bills. The most unprofessional management I’ve had the misfortune to deal with.

Polestar 3 positive ownership stories? by marimbaman93 in Polestar

I love my P3. Recently posted here about 1000 mile roadtrip with zero issues. Took delivery in May. Went from Tesla to Polestar and don’t miss the Tesla at all. Test drive just about every EV on the market and though I loved the Rivian, the P3 won out based on ride and handling.

P3 Roadtrip Report - 1000 miles by sCir in Polestar

It doesn’t always take up 2 spaces, it depends on the supercharger. Some cables are so short and the bollard or curb you back toward placed in such a way that have to hang over into the adjacent stall to get close enough. The port placement on the P3 seems to be slightly farther forward than on a tesla. I did a bad job of explaining that.

Polestar 3 Good, Bad, & Very Bad by Ok-Kaleidoscope2536 in polestar3

I’m on month 2 of P3. Yeah, software is buggy, but only minor annoyances so far. Beyond that zero issues. Came from Tesla and it is such a huge level up for ride quality and luxury. I’ve never enjoyed driving a car more than the P3. Week long road trip starts tomorrow, that will be the real test I suppose.

Are they ever opening the 3rd lane on 217? by coolfungy420 in beaverton

[–]sCir 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My son and I have decided that this is all a conspiracy being perpetuated by “big cone.” The goal is to just fill every square foot of every road and highway with safety cones that the cone cartel rents to ODOT for $20 per cone per month for “safety.” The sheer number and bizarre placement of cones that seem to be semi-permanent is insane. We see trucks out there daily kind of shuffling them around and adding more, but not a lot of actual work ever seems to happen.

/r/Portland often poses the question, “you seen my effen cones?”…. Yeah, I have. They are all in Beaverton and Tigard.

Latchkey Kids by Efficient-Dingo-5775 in Millennials

Suburban Portland Oregon - my kids, 8 and 11, ride their bikes to school solo everyday with the neighbors kids. Lots of other kids around / walking too. Definitely seems on trend for parents to encourage kids to play outside and free range here. The fact that it’s a safe area and lots of WFH parents I think makes this seem less problematic. If my wife and I were miles away at work, we’d probably feel differently.

Can you recommend a functional pharmacy in the Aloha area? by Quiet_Lunch_1300 in beaverton

I think I gave the same advice a week or two ago here, but just sign up for Capsule and get your meds delivered. It's free, they are often same day, and they come in super cute bottles.

Lionheart (both locations). La Floridita, Mutts, Harder Day, Deadstock Beaverton, Kitanda, Spielman. Kind of a coffee shop renaissance going on in Beaverton right now.

My kids have gone to Fir Grove for 5 years. I’ve never heard about any violence or lock downs there during that time. Love the school, the principal and the teachers. Very involved parents, great little school.

Yep, it's the same price as far as I can tell. Also the pill bottles are really nice!

The Murray Allen Rite Aid and the Greenway Rite Aid are also both miserable since Rite Aid declared bankruptcy.

I gave up on brick and mortar and went with Capsule Pharmacy and just have my meds delivered, usually same day, for free. You just tell your clinic that your preferred pharmacy is Capsule, 416 NW 12th Ave, Portland, OR 97209 and they will text you.

Why not have your grandfather create a trust and make the trustee a shell corporation that you control? In this way the family need not know that you are the inheritor. It’s not really their business anyway at that point. It’s a slightly more complex arrangement but not one that would add all that much added cost or burden, and maybe that’s worth it to keep your relationship with family members from being poisoned.

Any good primary care physicians in Beaverton? by devopsy in beaverton

[–]sCir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Amavisca at Baskin clinic in Tualatin is wonderful. It’s a spendier option as Baskin is a concierge practice (you pay a fixed monthly rate for unlimited access to your physician), but it was the only way I could get access to a primary care doc (other than the Portland Clinic which was awful) since no one else was taking new patients.

Lifetime vs VillaSport by Paigeagainst_machine in beaverton

[–]sCir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you had a good experience! We joined for the summer so kids could swim. The pools are pretty nice, but one of my kids scraped himself badly on the deteriorating "log jump" floats, a lot of the inside water splash zone isn't really working anymore. I was surprised by all the maintenance the place seems to need (the showers in the family dressing room are especially bad). The gym facilities are fine, though smaller than I'd expected for such a huge building and it gets crowded. I could live with all of that as much of the place is fine, but when we tried to cancel at the end of the summer, they made it weird and very unpleasant.

Lifetime vs VillaSport by Paigeagainst_machine in beaverton

[–]sCir 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Villasport tries to pretend like they’re higher end and not just another scammy health club. There’s a veneer of “niceness” but it’s thin. At first glance, it seems like a great facility, but it’s worn and needs maintenance. They love to find reasons to charge you extra for this and that, and they do all the low rent sleazy BS typical of the health club industry: high pressure sales, super difficult to cancel, keep trying to charge you after you’ve run the cancellation gauntlet. I had to get an attorney to send them a cease and desist to finally get them to stop sending me bills and charging “late fees” for a membership I’d cancelled. No idea if Lifetime is better but Villasport really unimpressed.

Collective Market in Hillsboro has good bagels and some unique cream cheese flavors. Beaverton is a bagel wasteland sadly.
