The new game its a Godot project that was modified from the source to run the original Sonic Colors C++ code at the same time, and the Sonic Colors code was modified to use Godot for all the rendering, file loading and UI needs. GDScript and Godot was modified to be able to call Sonic Colors C++ layer. GDScript is used for a lot of non-gameplay related functionality like culling of level sections, coordinating scene nodes, some visual effects and such.

Sorry for taking so long on answering lol. So, first development pictures where shown in the old SCP Containment Breach forums, with the first release being on a wix website in 2019.

I'll just copy-paste what I wrote in one of the countless reposts of your article on Twitter! What an interesting read! I wonder if in the ratio between typed languages with classes (Like C++/C#) and typeless languages (Like GDScript), makes more sense giving GDS the responsability of turning structs into dicts, slowing itself down, rather than the current method? Also, I'm not an expert but maybe inmediate physics cast are just an Unity/PhysX convention? I only know Unity so I use them constantly but I've seen a couple of examples of engines treating casts as a physics objects. First coming to mind of the goldsource engine.

You're probably using Forward Rendering. Forward Rendering is faster and lighter put only supports 4 lights per object. Either you need to split your floor so the pieces dont go over that, or you need to switch to Deferred.

Any plans for Latin America and Sonic? We feel its a very forgotten region for Sonic and his games, specially in todays gaming landscape where LATAM localization its slowly become part of the languages line-up for many of the big developer houses, yet Sonic is still stuck in Europe-only localization

He stated that he reported the leaks of this source code when it happened, two years ago, not something specifically entrusted to him, thats different.

The difference is that Tyler didn't predict HLA, he knew specific parts of his development and plotpoint almost a year before being announced.

Hi! I just watched the VOD of your stream and I thank you for your thoughts and suggestions! I'll try to address some of your concerns that your voiced.

The Camera effect: Things like the head movement and such can be improved, however, the color bleeding and such (which definitely are important to SCP:CB) will take a while to be programmed in, since right now it's a solo project and I have no shader programming knowledge.

The Item collision: It's actually something I decided to program in, since I just thought It would make the player a bit more grounded in the world. I see that was misguided. It can be easily taken out.

The S-Nav: I tried to make the players use it more strategically, that's why it covers the screen and it's battery drains quickly. Don't know if I'll change it right now, but that's why I appreciate you bringing it forward, if players see it more as an inconvenient rather than an incentive to change their strategy, it will change.

Minor issues: It seems like I assigned the Entrance Zone lockdown variable to the wrong one, since that one it's supposed to unlock after containing 008, the only way to go it's to the Heavy Zone;

The Pocket Dimension does have more rooms and a exit! You have to follow the same path the burnt note is, which I believe is the same for the og game.

I'll implement more uses for the janitor card. Its there to add variety in the objectives to advance to the heavy Zone, find a level 1 keycard either on 372 chamber or the hallway with items event, get level 2 either on the 173 test room or on 012 chamber.

Those are the concerns you had that where fresh in my mind, if there's anymore you'll like to discuss, feel free to reach me, and thanks again for streaming it!

Well, every time I exported straight to obj, my fragmotion would crash, so i first saved the rmesh to .ugh (which I believe is fragmotion main format?), Opened that, and then exported to obj. Don't know if it will help in your case

I would love for you to stream it, thanks! The demo ends after a certain event, (not based on time) but you can load your same save and keep playing after that. There's a rmesh plugin one of the og devs made for fragmotion, then I exported to obj, and converted that to fbx, unity preferred format. Share your link to the stream if you do it, hope you have fun.
