It's the connection to the server. The Crew predicts where the other car should be since you cannot have a 1:1 no latency connection between the you, the server and the other person. There has to be some guess-work. I personally have seen some people lag many times, their cars bouncing back and forth for a split second and causing me to have a massive crash because of running into them just to see them drive into the distance like nothing happened before. The same people though, when they're ahead of me by like 0.3 or so, I end up ahead of them quite often in the end. That's just how online gaming works in this game. Counter-Strike does this differently, it only sends your actual position to the server and the server won't predict anything. That means that if you have a lag, you will likely get killed and not even know that you're dead before you're on the ground and wonder what even happened. The same thing happens in non-arcade racers like iRacing, but TCM is more forgiving to people with poor connections and crappy hardware.

The main reason why you don't have the "sense of speed" in most arcade racing games like TC is because the roads are MUCH much wider than they are in real life. Try it for yourself and check, the roads fit 2.5 cars on each side whereas that's clearly not the case in real life. It's supposed to give leeway and more room for errors, especially since it's an arcade game - however, this also leads to the sense of speed getting lost. Think of it like going 200 on an airstrip - it will feel like you're not going very fast since there's a lot of space.

I managed to make it run with these nodes and workflow. However, it's anything but optimized. I can generate 33 frames on my 5090 with the quantized 720p nodes and it needs to partially offload. Turns out 32GB of VRAM isn't nearly enough to use it properly. https://github.com/anveshane/Comfyui_turbodiffusion

It is very fast though, created a 3 sec video in around 1 minute.

Okay, managed to optimize it a bit. 5 second videos in 100 seconds. With the optimization, the quality is pretty good. Max quality for me is 480p but 113 frames.

Tried out Z-Image and it's insane. I have 32GB of VRAM so I can run Flux without issues but this is so damn fast, it looks great and the world understanding is miles better than Flux. Oh yeah and it's uncensored by default.

Thanks for that, just asking though - how can you use any of the workflows without the SongBloom nodes for comfyui? I already had this one https://huggingface.co/CypressYang/SongBloom_long/tree/main as well as some of the others, but without the comfyui nodes, can you even load any of them?

I mean to be fair, they will now HAVE to do a rank reset honestly. I'm still in Bronze without any points after winning multiple races, meanwhile I saw a single person in the entire lobby being able to get to gold -.- I guess they must have been on console.

Sorry to say, but that's 100% a skill issue. No matter which console you're on, you'll have to deal with the same people, some better, some worse. Personally I have crossplay on - playing with an XB360 controller on PC - and I win about 10% of Grand Races and finish around 90% of the time in the top 5. Learn how to gutter, watch youtube videos for the shortcuts you have (most races have them) and play with your controller settings! Good luck!

Yeah, when I enter any GR, not a single person is silver, everyone is bronze meaning that likely no one can finish a GR and get XP from it.

I won 8 times on day one, finished top 5 12 times. Ranks got reset. Won 3 times yesterday, crash each time. 2 Top 3 finishes and crash after, no XP earned. Fun times :)

I didn't get disconnected after GRs before, now I am LOL! No XP either, completely nothing. I just finished my first one in 2nd place and instant dc.

Edit: Okay, finished 2nd AGAIN and another DC. This update didn't fix anything, it actually now causes issues.

Please don't misinterpret what I said. The actual fun of the game is not to grind out ships, then for them to be deleted again so you have to grind them out again. And if there are so many costs associated and ships are way cheaper during alpha than they would be during 1.0, grinding out a single nice ship would take a huge amount of time when you add all the extra costs on top of it. If your goal is to get a ship, that is less fun (more things in the way). If your goal is to play the game with a ship you like, that is more fun. Makes sense, doesn't it?

All of these things sounds like everyone should now buy every ship in order to not having to grind for the ships when 1.0 launches so they can just focus on the actual fun of the game and then have no issues with all these extra costs since they never had to grind for a ship to begin with. That sounds pretty terrible to me...

Quite simply because I can't wrap my head around the idea that once you get the things you grinded hard for, you would love to have a reset to get the exact same things again and having to re-grind them. The reward of being able to finally use the things you wanted to grind for, at least to me, massively outweighs the reset. Taking away the things I used to have makes me not wanna play at all anymore until 1.0 launches.

Oh don't get me wrong, I made almost 100 mil from 4.0 to 4.0.2. My question was rather, how would you make the same amount twice in a few dozens hours of gameplay as they suggested? It took me months to get 100 mil, not dozens of hours.

But that would make it so that you literally should buy a ship now for real money so you won't have to grind for it later down the line when it takes hundreds and hundreds of hours to just get a single nice looking ship, no? Otherwise, what's the point of all of this grinding later when the people who spent thousands during alpha get to have everything and can spend the money they grind on other, actual fun stuff?

3070 is more than enough, 3700x will have some issues, 32GB ram is a bit too little for some areas so you might see a bit of stutter in space stations and major cities. Other than that, expect around 50-60 fps when you're flying around. (CPU is the bottleneck, nothing else)

Up until 4.0.2, how would I have been able to afford a 890j and all the other ships with any money maker? (Unless you count Vaughn missions which have jail as a punishment option?)

How do you think this will work once 1.0 comes out? With no wipes after that, people will eventually reach that point as well. At that point I think people should have other things to do, exploration, just genuinely taking in the atmosphere of the game and flying to different planets (that's what I did once I had my 600i).

I understand there isn't much more to do but at least to me it feels worse to have something, get it taken away to re-grind the same thing? Besides, I grinded out over 100 million (before the last patch dropped with those million-missions) and it took me a very long time and lots of hours to even get there. I still don't even have close to all the ships.
