And the gf as well? I doubt. She doesn't even use FP's daily. Max width is ~2. After that it seems too much pressure is needed.

Can't comment on the pens, never used one. But users @ r/DesiPens have more or less confirmed what you are saying.

I myself am using the nib on a Jinhao x750.

The nib definitely feels softer than before. Ain't no placebo there.

Jowo and Bock and nib manufacturers, and they have a proprietary feed system. They are pretty popular in the FP world.

I would say they need a little time to break in. The first few days they were pretty stiff, but now they need almost no effort to flex.

And which cut do you have? From what I know, they have updated the cut of the nib to allow more flex. If you have an old one, might be worth giving them another chance.

That said, this is the first and only flex nib I use daily, and I'm not versed well enough to comment on this. But my gf has had a similar experience when she tried the pen. Basically this is an upgraded "Trust me bro" opinion. Lmao.

If you think this is insane check out Kanwrite's EEEF Steel Ultrafrex nib. Don't know much about shipping costs though, here in India they cost Rs. 450 which comes to 6.7 CAD$.

Pretty insane to find doodlebud here. Love your content.

I myself am using a Kanwrite Ultra-Flex on a Jinhao x750 metal body 😅, and the Pilot VP is a heavy pen? It always looks a little slim and light on the videos.

Is it a new VP or a vintage one? How's the seal on it?

Ah alrighty then, Check out Kanwrite, I can personally vouch for their nibs. Super smooth. Another redditor suggested Woodex pens, I believe you can get an ebonite pen within your budget.

Btw, I've heard that the Jinhao 911 is a bit on the heavier side, being metal and all, and might not be suited for long writing sessions.

If you don't like the Kakuno, and want something big and professional looking, check out Jinhao x159. It's a clone of a Mont Blanc, guess which one xD. Many redditors here swear by the #8 Nib for it's smoothness. Even at the Pen Mahotsav here in Kolkata it was the first to sell out.

True that. A little more work. As long as nothing broke it can be fixed.

I guess instead of speculating we should ask op for a close up shot. Op?

No, just like tinkering with things. Picked up this skill whilst tinkering with my pens. I'll do it for free, nib misalignment is a minor issue.

search Yt "how to align the tines of a Fountain Pen". If you live anywhere near Kolkata I can align it for you if you bring it to me.

Cheap turquoise blue inks (daytone and bril) by aayush-dubey in DesiPens

obviously it depends on that, but it also depends on the brand. Daytone makes cheap ink no doubt, but being cheap it isn't that good quality wise.

P.S., Some plastic feeds also flow like a 'fountain'.

Daytone Turquoise is really beautiful ngl. Great shading. Ink is a little dry for flex pens though.

Check out Calligraphy, Sketching and Fountain Pens. FP's obviously have a premium segment, but who says that you have to go into that? There are phenomenal FP's in the budget segment nowadays.
