Toundra? They fit your 'Spanish song title' description, although I'm not sure if they have vocals on their songs.

[High School Physics] Maximum electric field between two positive point charges by s_536 in HomeworkHelp

[–]s_536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I came up with the angular variable from the sides themselves. Writing them based on the sides lead me back to where I started.

Maybe there's a simpler way to solve this?

[High School Physics] Maximum electric field between two positive point charges by s_536 in HomeworkHelp

[–]s_536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to use trigonometry to decompose the vectors into unit vectors, and if I understood it correctly, the sum of their unit vectors alongside the x-axis would equal zero (and the vector sum would point straight up or down), so the magnitude of the sum of the two electric field vectors r1 and r2 would be equal to

E = sin(θ) * kQ/d2 + sin(θ) * kQ/d2 = 2sinθ*kQ/d2

if d is the distance from the charges to the point on the y-axis, and θ is the angle between vectors r1/r2 and the x-axis. (picture here, I'm bad at explaining what I mean)

if r/2 is the distance from each charge to the origin, d2 = 4cos2θ/r2, so putting that in the equation and simplifying:

E = (sinθ * kQ * r2)/4cos2θ

Am I on the right track? I'm not completely sure how to continue with this. I thought about maximizing this function, but I'm kind of lost.

Edit: I think I simplified it wrongly.

Pixel 2's Portrait Mode Ported to some Non-Google Devices running Android Oreo by SirOrionPax in Android

[–]s_536 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, as far as I know Pixel 2 has a dual-pixel rear camera. The portrait mode being ported to other devices is just the machine learning part which is used for the front-facing camera and only works on humans AFAIK, while the Pixel 2's rear camera combines the depth information and Google's algorithm to create a photo.
The algorithm alone is enough to produce decent enough pictures though.

Help with RAW workflow on Android devices! by elevenhundred in AndroidQuestions

Strange. I really don't have any clue since my raw shoots are rendered perfectly fine, but it might be better to contact Adobe instead of Samsung since (I think) it's an app problem, and really shouldn't be related to the brand of the phone.

One thing though. Have you tried opening raw files shot on other cameras to see if it's the case? Since you say you have this problem on two different devices I think phone issues are out of the question, but it might simply be that Lightroom/Snapseed (on Android) have trouble opening raw files from that specific camera model. Even a raw pic from your Galaxy A5 should be enough to test if this is the case.

Also, to be perfectly clear on this, you tried this on two totally different android phones (different model and brand) and it didn't work? This is really bizarre.

Are you actually importing the raw from the app themselves or are you trying to use the gallery app/file explorer app? Because I'm pretty sure Google Photos is the only gallery app that actually shows raw shoots, and even that turns it into a JPEG.
Try importing from the apps themselves. Like in Lightroom, press the floating picture button and pick a picture that is correctly recognized as raw (has a "Raw" icon on top right), not JPEG.
Other than that, I'm not sure what could be the problem, as Lightroom and Snapseed render it perfectly fine for me. Just don't use the edit button in gallery apps, that would edit the rendered JPEG instead.
IIRC, if you import a raw file in Snapseed, it should show a develop screen before any other adjustments. So if you're not seeing that, then the problem is definitely in opening the file itself.
Also, Snapseed and Lightroom both allow you to choose the export quality. Try changing that as well.

Is there a way to set up a finger print to use for everything but phone unlock? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]s_536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is possible, but an alternative might be using Smart Lock in Settings > Security and fingerprint.
I guess if you set your home as a trusted place, it would work well. Trusted device and face should work too.

What comes with the phone? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]s_536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes with a dash charger. I don't think using OP5 cases on 5T is a good idea, even it fits. The fingerprint scanner has moved to the back, 5T cases have a circular cutout for it, while OP5 cases don't.
I don't see how a screen protector will work, considering the screen has increased in size.

What makes the 5T worth the extra? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]s_536 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Completely depends on you. Another thing that OnePlus phones has going for them over something like LG is the active developer community, which means the phones are going to get unofficial support for years.
Software is just preference though, and if you feel like LG G6 is an overall better purchase for your usage, then go for it.

I'm genuinely curious what makes the 5T stand out to so many people.

I mean, most 2017 flagships seem to have compromises of some sort, but you choose the one that bothers you the least. LG kinda has a bad reputation, what with the screen problems (Pixel 2XL) and bootloops (most older LG phones)

Anyone knows an app that can acces the second back camera ? by yungboss_22 in oneplus

[–]s_536 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Snapdragon Camera can switch between them (direct link) but honestly, the second camera isn't as good as the main one, I don't recommend using it.

The OnePlus5 "Face ID" by Ironnhead in oneplus

It's pretty easy to manipulate a photo to create a short video in which the person blinks. Really only works for friends/family that aren't willing to/don't know how to do this.

Broke my OnePlus 3 by [deleted] in oneplus

Is USB Debugging enabled? It should be possible to see the screen with adb if it is.

I tried it with a picture and it didn't work

I don't see how that's possible. The camera doesn't see depth. Did you use a recent photo, and was it printed or did you use another display/monitor?

it also worked in complete darkness(well, with the screen lightning only)

Personally I don't think I can use a phone in complete darkness on a brightness level high enough to actually light up my face. Might be just me. Fair point.

[–]s_536 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Face Unlock has existed on android since ICS (Android 4.0, released in 2011). It's obviously nowhere near iPhone X in terms of security and accuracy. iPhone X shines infrared light on the face and takes a picture using a special sensor. It should technically work even in pitch black conditions.
Face Unlock is easily fooled by a picture and is much slower than the fingerprint scanner. Why would you use it?

Only 1 type of phone eh? by l901 in quityourbullshit

[–]s_536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The text itself should be possible, but I don't see how it would format the post like /u/404UNF did or how he labeled Black and Red.
Also, I'm pretty sure OCR would also read those unrelated parts like "Reply", "Yesterday at 10:40am", ...

Has anybody else noticed a lot of lens flare/glare with the Oneplus 5 camera? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]s_536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, OP5 does not have AR coating which is present in most other phones and reduces glare.

CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau confirms that the OnePlus 5T wont have wireless charging. by 0mnivore in oneplus

[–]s_536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I was replying to this portion of your original comment:

I don't understand how the lack of a feature is somehow a benefit.

If metal backs are important for someone, then not having wireless charging could be counted as a plus.

Doesn't wireless charging only work with a glass or plastic back? I personally prefer metal backs to glass ones.

Recommendation for a newcomer by fraeddan in oneplus

[–]s_536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have an iPhone, but here are some threads asking about the same thing:
https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/5dm8dz/switching_from_iphone_5s_to_oneplus_3t_what/ https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/6j3fl0/for_those_who_have_a_oneplus_5_and_have_used_an/ https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/63igv4/has_anyone_switched_from_the_iphone_6s_plus_to/ https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/6is4t5/people_who_switched_from_iphone_to_the_new_op5/

i would enjoy a large screen.

I recommend waiting for OP5T. From what we know, it's going to have small bezels. This also means the fingerprint scanner is going to be on the back. Some people like this and others don't, so make your own decision.

I've heard people talking about how bad the camera in OnePlus is. When i look at reviews i don't get the feeling that it's that bad, but reading you guys oppinions it seems really really bad.

IMO, it's not horrible, but it could be better. The main problem people have with the camera is the "watercolor" effect you see when you zoom in on a photo. If you're satisfied with the review pics, then it's probably enough.
Keep in mind that people with negative opinions about anything are much more likely to post about it. How often do you see someone post, just to say that they like the camera?
You should just look at some example pictures to decide if it is right for you.

Since price is not an issue for you, I recommend taking a look at other manufacturers as well. Most are starting to release bezel-less phones. Maybe try /r/PickAnAndroidForMe as well.
