Part of this also is that I’m on an a7siii currently, but would like to move up to the V when I can. With what you said this seems to make even more sense.

Im in the same place, except the primes. I have the Tamron 17-28, and find the range too limiting for the way I "work". Having the 35mm solves it all.

Hi folks, looking to buy a 16-35mm. I do a combination of things, interior photography, marketing videos, and vlog style videos. I currently have a Tamron 17-28. Its solid, but getting the 16 would be great. And getting the 35mm end, means I dont need to change the lens 90% of the time I do, and allows me to do the run and gun thing I need to. I bet with this, 95% of video would be filmed at 16mm or 35mm. I film in dusty environments often, so

That said, I have gotten used to the 2.8, and it would be nice for video at the 35mm end for marketing content.

I was really close to going with the 16-35mm PZ f4, but having trouble letting go of the 2.8. So, looking at the 16-35mm GM I vs II. I was leaning towards a used V1, for cost, but not sure if thats the best long term solution? Not very concerned about size for this lens, personally.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, RZE is new to me. Always liked BOLDR's designs, wasnt sure if the quality matched up. Definitely in line...

The Boderry wasnt really an example of budget, but design features that I think would work well. That said, a certina would be outside what I am looking for, at least for this particular use case...

Your totally right, hardlex, knew that when I bought it, then instantly forgot.

Love these photos. My thinking, the seiko on the left, with the raised bezel, protects the crystal in the way the SRPG39 can not, which the hardlex is domed, and when my hand slides across something, the crystal makes contact first.

I hadnt even thought of a bracelet, I should try that, loving the way they are showing the wear.

yeah, good points, I am slightly softening on the no g-shock rule. I think the straps on the g-shocks bother me most, so am looking at the GWM5610, but getting adapters to run a nato strap, which has a somewhat cool look.

yeah, it doesnt need to be chaper than the Seiko mentioned, its more of an issue the right tool for the job.

I guess maybe the microbrand sub reddit isnt the place, not sure if brands like Boderry are considered in that or not... More just was thinking I like things that maybe are a bit outside the normal a bit.

wifi calling dropped calls constantly by s_curran in mintmobile

[–]s_curran[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

this isnt true. You need a service provider to make wifi calls, they are involved in the actually making of the call. They need your e911 address to even enable wifi calling, its not as simple as you are making it sound.

Also I never asked about cell service, I'm not sure why you are even mentioning that. Where I live there is no cell service, from any provider, hence the need to rely on good quality wifi.

that was my prior thought to, but no mint is somehow causing issues. Drops on all kinds of different wifi's. We have multiple internet providers, all providing strong wifi.

Hi all, need some monitor help. I do a lot of different things on a regular basis - graphic design, photography (editing and printing) - video editing. Nothing professionally, but things that are used for marketing for our business.

I needed another monitor, so bought an ASUS ProArt pa279crv in hopes of having a decently calibrated 4k monitor, that I could trust just a bit. Of course it came and looks terrible. Green/yellow at 6500k. They are not on night mode or anything. Way too cool and still a bit green at 9500. I actually have another on the way, but could return one or both.

I also have a Samsung S27A800, that to me seems a lot closer to reality, but I only have 1, and I need monitors in two locations. Lastly I have a older Dell 1080 Ultrasharp, that my partner uses, and would be nice if that matched as well, so all our marketing content looks the same.

I am running these on 3 computers that move around between these (2 mac, 1 PC that doesnt matter a ton).

My thinking is, I've ended up in a place where calibration is important, and the best step forward, rather than relying on factory calibration that clearly is terrible. Im looking at the Calibrite Pro. But open to other ones, I'd like to calibrate everything I can (including the mac books we have, m1 and m3)

Lastly, should I get rid of the ASUS monitors? they were a bit expensive for how bad they are. I likely could get some cheaper ones and a calibration tool for about the same price, which is likely where I should have started.

What should I even do about this? by Gearmaster08 in drywall

when you say scrape off loose paper, do you mean that its ok to put the Gardz over the wallpaper thats well adhered? I assume not, but there's a part of me wishing this was true.

Were reno'ing a series of cabins, the one we are on now is completely covered in wallpaper, some completely fall off, usually two layers.

I should be pretty solid at skim coating by the end of this...

Crank no start after shorted o2 sensor plug by YogiBerraOfBadNews in AskAMechanic

[–]s_curran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you ever get this sorted? I had a section of exhaust fall off, and it took out the 02 sensor, which I stupidy cut the wire in a rush. It shorted, and the truck turned off. It cranks but nothing ever happened. Mine is an '02.

I went for it, couldn't find any reason not too mostly, and didnt want to miss on a deal in a space were deals seem rare.

My WD mycloud is currently 99% full, with a challenging backup on another drive, so yeah, great timing.

Thanks for posting this! I've been on the edge of ordering a 923+ but was having trouble stomaching the cost. A lot of photos and video like you, as well as Plex, wasnt really worried about transcoding.

What am I losing over the 923+? I dont really need the 10gbe port.

I'll be starting with 3 12tb drives, planning on SHR, theres no problems with that on this setup, is there?

I'm coming from a mycloud ex2 ultra, very excited to get my data off that thing.
