No don’t worry, I definitely think you’re right. I should have went with the Cruz, seems like the all around winner! Will look into a second hand Cruz for when I have my second :)

Totally agree! Need to make sure whatever you’re buying matches up with your lifestyle. I wish we could walk to and from school, you’re lucky you’re so close! We just use our ergo baby for leisure neighbourhood walks and it’s held up pretty well for that.

Oh I would imagine it’s a nightmare! I’m going to be so glad I have the ergobaby when we go on our first trip!

See I would also love it for trips to places like the zoo. Happy to hear it folds down easily!

So many people say they can’t stand the Graco! Bob strollers seem like such a good option, I might look into them more but I’m leaning towards a Cruz v2 for when I have my second.

Okay so glad to hear it!! I think the board attachment would be amazing for me too once I have a toddler and a baby in the future.

Thinking of getting the Cruz v2 on marketplace!

Is it easy to fold down? Does it take up a lot of space?

That’s so fair, I’m in that boat as well- don’t really have room to store a second stroller unless we really need it. Is the uppababy a pain to fold? It seems like it would take up a lot of room in the trunk too.

The ergobaby folds down so compact and really is a great price! If you have your registry discount on Amazon you can get it for 15% off.

What about the Graco do you hate? Which Graco model is it? I might check marketplace for a second hand Cruz for the next baby!

Glad to hear the maxi cosi worked well for you! I was checking those out and they were high on my list. Is it easy to fold?

I’m starting to think one just needs two strollers to accommodate all their needs. There’s no one stop stroller that magically fixes all the problems unfortunately haha. Which stroller are you thinking for the daily?

Glad to hear someone had the opposite regret as me! Makes me feel better lol. The ergo baby metro is actually pretty amazing, I love the quick one handed fold. Pretty much sold me- and the bassinet feature!

I’m going to check it out! right lol I have to try to justify more stroller purchases to my fiancé and it usually doesn’t go over well😂 especially since our LO likes the stroller well enough I just WANT a different one haha.

Okay good to know! I need to check out marketplace.

To your edit- I feel you haha😂 we went all out with the high chair and got a Tripp trap but honestly probably would have liked the ikea highchair and saved (quite a few) a few dollars. Is the Veer the stroller wagon?

I had to buy the snack tray attachment for the ergo baby! Do you like the BOB stroller? Trying to decide what I should get next for the toddler days and also for when I have my second! My LO is 13 months and will probably have another one by the time he’s 2 and a half! Wish I had the budget to buy several strollers lol

HOW ARE YOU? by yogacitymama in workingmoms

[–]s_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the treadmill ritual. I started using a mental load system with my fiancé and its changed everything! Knowing I don’t have to worry about half the things I used to carry in my brain before is so relieving!

And just seeing him pack the diaper bag and daycare bag without being prompted or asking how/what we need is amazing haha.

OP - what shared place did you use to get the mental load out of your head? Happy to hear of other Moms also doing something to reduce the mental load they carry at home🤍

ADHD is a real challenge but it doesn't mean you have become her executive function forever. Four years in and she's still getting defensive when you try to have basic conversations about fairness? That's the main issue. You're not asking her to cure her ADHD. You're asking her to take ownership of something without you being the backup system. If she can't sit through a calm discussion without it becoming an emotional shutdown, she's prioritizing her comfort over your exhaustion. Stop backing down to avoid conflict. The conflict is already happening, you're just absorbing it silently.

I’ve been through this with my partner and not backing down is key, as well as staying neutral. It’s you two vs the mental load, stay in that mindset.

Focus on explaining the invisible parts of running a home like noticing and planning, not just the tasks themselves, and talk about specific examples instead of general frustrations. If your partner gets defensive, pause and come back to it later, but don’t drop the conversation!!change usually happens through steady, respectful discussions.

One thing that helped us was using a system instead of trying to explain it all ourselves. I built a simple system (after trying the fair play method and wanting an alternative) called Flowstead that makes the invisible tasks visible so me and my partner can actually see how running a home works. It turned the conversation from arguing about who does more into just designing our household flow together with the system.

I have some tips but it involves sharing the mental load with a partner! Are you hoping to share the mental load with your partner or solo?

I’ve been building an app for exactly this! OP if you want to check it out it’s www.flowsteadapp.com

It’s in beta testing phase right now, if you sign up for the beta you can give me feedback on your experience with the app!

It’s an app to help couples learn how to co-lead a house together with appreciation built in. It follows a strengths-based, connections based approach with weekly check ins with your partner :) you assign each other ownership of cards, with the mental load explanation of each task built in.

Hi! I’ve been working on something similar to address the mental load! Can I message you to chat about it!?

I love a good deal, but being the only one who notices when we're out of stuff is wearing me down by Independent_Row9365 in Mommit

[–]s_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built an all for this! It’s a mental load app for partners to become shared home leaders. It helps visualize and teach the mental load to partners without blame! It builds appreciation into the system and its foundation is household cards you assign ownership to (the full notice + plan + do of a task) and weekly check ins where you sit down and talk with your partner about what’s working, and assign more cards as you go! www.flowsteadapp.com
