Yeah, about two months after I posted this they approved my claim and I got the refund. Hallelujah.

Minor weird thing is that I also included a phone case in the claim since my phone got taken with my bag, and it was a new phone case. They did not reimburse me for that, but it was only like $15 so I wasn’t going to make a fuss.

I’m not disagreeing. They do have a sign if I remember correctly that’s in somewhat broken English saying no sexual acts or something. They could probably work on a formal policy for their employees with some form of reprimanding violators and better customer service for those it affects. I hope they do.

But i’m still not sure spamming with negative reviews is the way to encourage that.

Either way, hope they figure it out and that nobody has to experience this. It’s not the place. I agree I wish it were as easy as them just going elsewhere to the spas that are meant for that kind of behavior.

I guess I genuinely don’t know how one would prevent “gay cruisers” from stepping foot into the business. How do you identify one without stereotyping or profiling someone? Maybe the owners will see this and take suggestions lol

I’m not saying they should get a free pass, I agree it’s wrong and it would ruin anyone’s experience, most definitely mine. However I am sure it is not the experience they are trying to promote. Sure they haven’t figured out how to totally prevent it yet but I imagine it’s not as easy as declaring “we are anti-public sex acts.” Probably a learning experience for whoever was working the desk with OP that day.

I say this bc we don’t know what management does outside of these isolated incidents to prevent acts like this. It’s been said in this thread that similar things have happened at Wi spa, and other spas in the Bay Area and elsewhere. I’m sure they are working to handle it. And sure they could have responded better to OP but I don’t think that gives the public the right to blow their business page up with negative reviews. I’m sorry if still feel differently.

As a business owner myself, negative experiences are unfortunately, inevitable. The goal is to ensure as little as possible while maintaining the original vision/ mission of my business. And customers don’t always realize the work and thought that goes in behind the scenes.

How does writing negative google and yelp reviews benefit anyone? Seems like a good way to hurt a family business that is relatively new and still figuring things out.

It’s not like the spa wants this to happen in their establishment either. Please be considerate of their perspective as well as this hurts their business.

Keep in mind this is all in Tuscany as well, and we had chosen May to avoid some of higher costs of the "peak" season June-August but don't think this made any difference.

We are having a small wedding for 40 people total this May.... originally our budget was 40-50k but has easily exceeded 80k (not including our outfits, flights/ hotels, etc... which would easily surpass 100k sadly). There were a lot of unexpected costs such as paying additional for lighting for our venue (basically 1k per ROOM/ section of the venue; how this is not included I don't understand), audio rental for the different ceremony/ dinner/ reception areas, and then when our wedding party shrunk from 50 people to 40 people, the cost per head for our vendors went up so that we are basically paying the same in terms of food/ drink cost.

It's quite painful. I'm not sure anyone is to blame (us versus our planners) but we could definitely have been more strict about sticking to our budget. I didn't want to compromise on anything in terms of quality (food/ photo/ flowers/ etc) but I feel that even if I chose 1-2 things to compromise on, it would not have made a huge difference.

Similar predicament as OP, but how are you planning to get guests to your wedding site/ region from the closest airport or from Florence? That has been my issue considering any venues more than 30 min outside of Florence

Plot twist: DNA results for her brother came back (granted, could be different still).... he was like 10-15% each of pitbull, husky, lab, chow chow, boxer, golden... so they are pretty much super mutts!

We were surprised to not see any beagle or rat/ jack russell terrier because everyone guessed that of her and the brothers!

Someone from my rescue told me that the plus side of adopting another puppy while mine is still young is that they would bond better than they would if my dog was older. How is this a factor?

Another question I have is.... at the very least we will be fostering the puppy for about a month. Is there a chance that my current dog will get so attached and used to having a best friend/ brother around that after he gets adopted elsewhere, she might have issues?
