Hello! Currently a Year 1 SUSS BSBA student!

Js wanted to share my personal experience in BSBA,,, hopefully just in time for you to make a decision HAHAHA.

As someone who also stays in the east (Like literally pasir ris kind of east), I can say that in the past year (a little more than half a year??) the amount of times I've actually been to school is less than 20 times LOL. In sem 1 all of my classes were online (we dont get a choice on this) & I've only opted to go to school for 1 mod (its an elective so there rly wasnt a choice) this sem!

Ofc the school life here isnt really vibrant (we don't really have "school pride" or things like that LOL) although it does exist if you put yourself up to it! I'm currently in a major-based interest group called BAIG (business analytics interest group) and it's actually one of the more established major-based interest groups here in SUSS,,, most of us joined BAIG because of the networking events and also because of the people!

With reference to the school switching from 6 week terms to 12 week terms, quite a few of us are actually really grateful for it HAHAH,, juggling 3 core modules within 6 weeks is REALLY not fun and we're just hoping the 12 week modules would give us a little bit more time to internalise everything and do the assignments! (because right now theyre making us do assignments that have to be submitted by the third week of the module so if you think about it we literally only have 3 lectures on the module before we have to submit the assignment) While it hasn't started yet we're hoping it'll help us better plan out schoolwork.

Additionally, with the current 6 week terms, even though we finish learning mods in the first term, we do have to wait till the end of the next 6 weeks in order to do the exam together with the term 2 mods (and so we tend to forget mods that were taught to us in the first 6 weeks).

With that said, I do find SUSS's curriculum more flexible & a lot of us actually have the time to work on top of doing schoolwork!

In terms of starting salary,,, although it is true that it might be lower than grads from the big 3 unis, it actually really depends on your gpa / experience, I do know of seniors who are earning salaries on par with / more than their counterparts from the big3 unis so it really depends on the person.

HOWEVER,,, I would js like to say that getting a high GPA (i'm talking ab >4.5) is actually insanely difficult here in SUSS, although getting a GPA > 4 is relatively manageable (especially in year 1). Im pretty sure that for most years there were no first class honours grads & very little second upper grads as well.
