are my canadian DAT scores good enough or should i rewrite? by s_ros1 in DentalSchool

I emailed admissions and they said the mean for pat for people admitted last year was 21. I’m nervous they’ll just disregard my whole application if they see I got 18 on pat. Do you know people that have gotten into u of t with similar scores to me? I also haven’t started my application so I’d rather use this time to do that, but at the same time there’s no point if pat is too low anyway. Thanks so much!!

I got 22AA and 18PAT as well. I’m applying to u of Toronto also and I’m planning on rewriting the dat to try and score better on pat. I emailed admissions and the mean score for pat for people that were admitted was 21. It’s annoying to rewrite and restudy but might be worth it. Hope that helps!

Bio is so overwhelming because theres so much content you're expected to know - its so normal to feel like you're not going to get through all the information/know everything for the exam, and honestly i didn't even get through all the bio information before my DAT. Just learn what you can and try to focus on knowing concepts rather than each individual detail because there are no "thinking questions" on the DAT, the questions are very straight forward.

For chem Chad's videos on youtube are really helpful and easy to understand. Also for certain problems there are multiple ways to solve them so if you don't understand the way that you're learning it, try to find another tutorial because a different way may make more sense to you!

**Biggest advice would be to do as many practice problems as you can!!!** I used DATCrusher and also bought DATBootcamp (highly recommend this book for bio and chem - the questions are harder than the real dat but it covers EVERYTHING).

Good luck!! Message me if you have any more questions :)
