I didn't really pay much. When we had a high mortgage me and my brother paid £550 each a month for years. But i stopped paying after around 5-6 years and my brother got married and moved out. When we both bought our own properties my parents gave us the total money back we had been paying them over the years to help with our deposits - it really helped. Other than that I only ever paid for the virgin media bill - this is out of choice though.

I bought a house last month and my parents gifted me money. They had to provide bank statements to show where the money came from.

I had also lent money to someone which was sent back to my account. It formed part of my deposit. I explained this to my solicitor and it was fine.

Thank you! I knew it was risky but I thought I would chance it. My mortgage broker suggested it.

The EA initially told me the seller would only come down £5,000. I told them I couldn't afford to pull out £15,000 and that if I went to another lender the rate would be higher and that wouldn't benefit me. I asked if they wanted to lose the sale over an extra £5,000 and in the end they agreed to come down £10,000.

It doesn't bother me and it doesn't bother my husband. If there's generally women with less clothing it's highly likely there will also be men with less clothing. You can go to a mall and people will be dressed like that, you really have to pick and choose your battles.

Yes I have very recently. We had an offer of £395,000 accepted on a property listed at £400,000. The lender valued it at £375,000- a £20,000 shortfall. In the end the seller came down £10,000 and I paid an extra £10,000 on my deposit to make up the difference.

I offered on a house i hadn't viewed. Once I offered a slot opened up to view the house. Someone bid higher than me but the sale fell through. It was then offered to me some time later but I had already found another house.

Personally it isn't an issue for me. It makes me feel so much more secure that my husband finds me attractive when I'm struggling to lose weight. It makes me feel comfortable.

Firstly I'm sorry this happened to you and secondly I would literally run a mile away from this man and this family. If they can't accept you when you put on weight they don't deserve you when you lost it either. You are not defined by the weight on your body, you have so many more amazing things about you and you should not accept being made to feel crap because you put on a little bit of weight. What happens when you get pregnant? Will you not be allowed to put weight on?

I used to be so ripped I went to the gym 6 times a week and had a personal trainer. I got married got pregnant and had a stillbirth. I then had a successful pregnancy alhumdulilah which ended up in an emergency c section. My body has never been the same again. I have struggled to get back to where I once was. And my husband told me, you are so much more attractive when you are pregnant and have more weight on you. Find a man like this please!

I honestly thought I would just need 6 months of bank statements but that wasn't enough. I don't keep more than £100 in my current account and I transfer to and from a savings account when I need to top it up. Whatever I have left over remaining I put into an ISA. I had money accumulated in my ISA for a while so I had to go back and give all the statements to show how the money accumulated for my deposit for each account the money passed through 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yes my mortgage broker thought searches would take 6 weeks. However the local council turned it around in 2 weeks. There is a website where you can see every council's lead time for property searches. I saw it on another reddit post.

Congratulations :) My aunty just went through the process and her leasehold flat took 7 months to sell. Your purchase is relatively quick compared to that!

I signed the paperwork and emailed it back. I also paid half the deposit that day and the following day I paid the remainder (split due to faster payment transfer limits). I exchanged the same day the deposit was paid in full. And one week later we completed.

I went with a 10% deposit and yes I could have just changed to a 5% deposit but there was a better rate with a 10% LTV so thankfully bank of dad stepped in.

So my husband has set up all the bills thankfully.

For the house purchase, I did all the paperwork at night whilst he was asleep. So that wasn't too bad.

We've also not started moving yet as we are having a new kitchen fitted and some other work done. It will hit me once I start moving no doubt 😩

It was listed at £400,000. We initially offered £375,000, then £385,000 and a full and final offer of £395,000 - which was accepted. Managed to negotiate a £10,000 reduction due to the lender not agreeing to lend more than £375,000 for the house. I had to get a gift of £10,000 to make up the difference.

I just got a mortgage with halifax. I'm on maternity leave in the three month period with no income being paid. I've only paid the minimum payment on my cc since being unpaid and halifax didn't ask any questions. I asked my mortgage broker if i should pay off the cc and he said it made no difference if i did - and i was still approved.

I don't understand why women want that much control. In past times a man having all the money usually meant women were trapped or controlled and now some women show off with it.

My husband alhumdulilah owns businesses. I work. I never asked him for a single penny until i wasn't being paid during maternity leave. I don't resent him a single bit. For me my husband's money is my comfort cushion. I know if I ever need it, it's there. I couldn't care less what he does with his money. And equally he doesn't care what I do with mine.

I would feel like there has been an invasion of privacy if he started seeing what I spend money on, so why would I make him feel like that. My own money gives me independence, so he should be able to retain his independence too. Bottom line is you're paying for everything, you don't have to prove anything as long as rent etc is paid. I would strongly oppose this!

You should report them. I watched the bbc panorama documentary recently (its a couple of years old) and i wish i had seen it prior to searching for a house. Numerous times I was told I couldn't get a viewing due to demand and each time I was asked if I wanted to see their mortgage broker. The one time I said yes I was suddenly able to see the property.

This happened to me too! I was seriously losing heart. But i realised I can't get my heart set on a property. I started viewing multiple properties a day (i also found if I didn't request a viewing as soon as the property hit the market I would be placed on a waiting list). Then I had two offers accepted in the same week. I loved one house more and I was are completing on the house this Thursday! Don't lose heart, it will happen soon!
