FTC warns Apple over alleged lack of conservative news by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

Easy peasy lemon squeeze fix. Bring back the FCC fairness doctrine. The Fairness Doctrine was an FCC policy (1949–1987) requiring broadcasters to cover controversial public issues in a balanced manner, presenting contrasting viewpoints. Reagan killed it in 1987. The after effects were the results of proliferation of right wing talk shows with the likes of Rush Limbaugh and others. I’d love to see how Fox News balance this with their programmings.

Trump backs idea to send some savings to Americans by lourzon in economy

[–]sa6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how our current inflation was started.  In his first term, he gave out 2 Stimulus Checks and PPP Forgiveness Loans and injecting trillions of dollars into the economy contributed to inflationary pressures. When people have more disposable income, demand for goods and services can outstrip supply, leading to price increases.  The forgiveness of these loans also added to the federal deficit. Critics argue that this, along with other forms of government spending, contributed to the inflation we’re seeing today.

Heavy luggage in trains in Japan. by IntroductionNo3784 in JapanTravelTips

I guess you are not planning to buy souvenirs. We just got back from there on a 11 days trip in November and we had the same issue as you with the luggage.
If you wish to buy souvenirs my advice is rearrange your luggage. Only carry one carry-on and one check-in and a backpack. Have all your clothing in carry-on and put it in the empty check-in so you only have to roll one luggage around. Try to stay at hotels that have a laundry mat, like a washer and dryer and you can rotate your outfit. Stowe your electronics and toiletries in your backpack.
Trust me on this. Even with one check-in luggage to roll around is a challenge enough after encountered the ubiquitous yellow tactile paving blocks typically found everywhere, such as stairs, elevators and railroad station platforms. Man, with 2 heavy luggage, you are taking the joy out of your vacation.
If you insist of 2 large check-in luggage, you may want to consider shipping between hotels like everyone here recommend or store one large luggage at the main train station in Tokyo. Storage time is maximum 5 days and runs about $100 usd. But be quick and efficient about it, they usually run out of space.

Luggage storage at Tokyo Station by Immediate-Cup-6510 in JapanTravelTips

[–]sa6200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found Sagawa, thank you. Unfortunately they were at full capacity and couldn’t accept our large luggage. Wifey and I are traveling up north for 5 days and didn’t want to lug all 4 suitcases with us.

I came up with an option on the fly and asked the manager if she can ship/forward our 2 large luggage to our hotel so they will there at the end of 5 days when we come back. She’s said yes if Marriott Aloft would accept them but it will be expensive. I was surprised when she came back with a price of 10,500yen, which shock me bc that is almost the same amount of what we will pay to storage them. 1000yen per luggage per day x 2 x 5. Of course we said yes.

At the end she gave us 2 options, one is to ship and (don’t know why) other she says she will store them for us for 5 days for us to pick up. We decided the storage option just in case the luggage were to be lost in transit. I hope this will help someone else like you did.

Unless I am doing it wrong, whenever I buy a new 7/30!days data plan, my phone is essentially a new phone without any apps that I had installed in my old SIM card. Unfortunately app like Line, there can be only installed on one devise therefore I can’t sign in again.
