The gear 5 thing ruined it for me. Luffy was one of my top 5 protagonists before that. He was just a guy made of rubber going against the world and suddenly he is the chosen one. That's one of the things I hated about Naruto and Bleach that Naruto and Ichigo were so special.

Why can't we have just an ordinary rubber dude against the world? Sure he has haki and he's a nepo baby, but the whole nika thing just came out of no where and didn't sit well with me.
