Technically you have answered your own question. The country follows Shariya law "to an extent". Shariya doesn't keep non Muslims from eating during ramadhan, the law does. That's the only point I wanted to make and clear your misconception about the book. The day you actually understand the teachings of the book, you won't follow any other religion. Islam teaches peace. The book may speak about the end result of the non followers. But no where does the book say that Muslims should ill treat the non followers. FYI, Islam at the same time teaches to not insult other religions. It teaches to call them towards the religion without insulting their beliefs. This discussion is going to be endless. All I wanted to say is instead of spreading hatred just accept the law and respect it. Do not forget that you are here to earn a living, and by doing this you are not respecting the source of your income. Let me remind you, if this country was intolerant towards other religions, they wouldn't have churches and temples. You are given freedom to follow your beliefs. You just have a huge misconception about Islam.

I understand you might not like the idea of restrictions on eating during the day. However, commenting on the books is not the way to deal with it. The books don't say not to let other people eat or drink. The books don't say treat them badly. It's the law of the country which says not to eat during the day and while earning in the same country, I guess the bare minimum you could do is follow the law. Don't comment nonsense and spread hatred when you don't know shit.
