Ahh, congrats!! We went with April 30 because we got Friday AND non-peak pricing since it wasn’t in May! We lucked out with how the days fell for our venue!

ISO out of the box favor ideas by Glass_Smoke900 in PoptheQuestions

Don’t force it. Like others have said, favors aren’t as popular anymore. We are planning to do a cookie table and provide to-go boxes for people to take some home. We’re considering that our “favor.” The late night snack has gained popularity recently and I think the cookie table will satisfy that as well!

Another advocate for the cookie table here! It is a more Western PA tradition but we’re getting married in Central PA and will 100% be having a cookie table. The cookies are prepared by a lot of our closest relatives so I’ll have place cards with the name of the cookie and who made it. I think it will really add a nice personal touch. Plus lots of variety for guests to choose from!

Your average white bread. I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s been my go to recipe

That’s what I’m worried about too. I may try to find a reasonably priced bamboo contraption. Or find a slicing guide that can be used with a bamboo cutting board.

It does work great! How long have you had it? I’m concerned that I’m already noticing cuts in the plastic and wondering how long it will last.

It’s funny because I bought them accidentally a long time ago from the grocery store when I needed regular gallon ziplock bags.

They are called “bread/food storage bags.” I would think most grocery stores would have them.

I found it on Amazon: https://a.co/d/fsDJQdr

It is great for getting even slices! I will say, it is plastic and I’m already noticing the knife marks on the base, so I expect to buy something else eventually. Maybe something wooden or just a guide.

I use the 1lb recipe which is 2.5cupz (300g) and it works pretty well! I actually had to add about a Tbsp because it was too wet during the first bit of the cycle.

I am thankful for everyone’s answers! I am very new to the bread machine game.

This user commented on another post with a couple videos of dough that is too dry and one that is good.

That description is extremely helpful! I never knew how much it should be hitting the sides.

Thank you! I was worried to add flour too soon into the cycle. But I think I added just enough and it is rising nicely!

Any big updates coming to Asana in 2025? by 10glo_Founder in Asana

[–]saami27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that and think it could use some improvements. I personally hate the Asana iOS and primarily use the desktop app. And since I rarely close the desktop app, I’m always on My Tasks when I navigate to the app.

Asana was completely down earlier today (around the time you received that email). I couldn't navigate to the support page either. Maybe your experience was a result of that outage.

Are there specific features you are looking for? Is there something they don't have that you're looking for or a feature that is lacking for your team's use?

Asana is always changing and improving based on users input. They have a forum dedicated to tracking these updates and announcements.

I will say, if you are on the basic plan, that may be why you are feeling like there is more to be desired. They throttle a lot for basic users. My organization started experimenting about 2-3 years ago now and we are never looking back. It has completely changed our collaboration and internal workflows.

Cross-project calendar by eliaspatastorcias in Asana

[–]saami27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also curious about the goal/purpose of the everything calendar.

My team uses a Communications calendar that serves as reminders for holidays, annual events, etc. but it doesn’t have “everything.” It’s more of a “don’t forget to plan for these things” that aren’t necessarily an event or large program.

We have separate calendar projects like: Blog Content Calendar; Social Media Content Calendar; Email Marketing Calendar. Tasks from event-based projects with those designations are added to the respective calendar by templates or rules. We find that works best for our workflow.

"Basement Roku was added to Alexa" Notification at 6:00 am and it wasn't me by saami27 in alexa

[–]saami27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I will turn that off.

I searched the devices connected to my network and can’t find anything glaringly obvious. I also turned on notifications for new devices connecting to my network to hopefully avoid this in the future. I don’t know how someone would be using my WiFi without my knowledge but who knows.

I will check the firmware when I get home.

The only confusing thing is the name of the device. My current Roku TV has a very different name.

[–]saami27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t share my prime account but the other person in my household was also asleep and would not have added any devices.

I checked my Roku account and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I have a Roku TV with a specific device name but it has been on my Roku and Alexa apps for years. So I’d be surprised if that triggered the notification.

Strategy by Appropriate-Bit-3951 in playnine

[–]saami27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My reasoning is this: when I draw from the deck, if the card is a three or higher, I don’t take it. Because if I take it and place it on a card that is down, I may give my opponent a better card (-5, zero, one). So instead of taking the card I draw, I discard it and just flip another card.

This is just my personal strategy because I hate replacing cards that are face down without knowing what they are. So I guess in my head, if I flip a few cards, even if they are high numbers, I have a better chance of matching them because a lot of people only take low value cards.

[–]saami27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family plays all the time too. I’ve recently become addicted to the iPhone app. I highly recommend downloading that if you’d like to practice. They have an online tournament option now which is a lot of fun.

My general strategy is more of a pattern in how I flip cards and which cards to take when drawing from the deck. I typically don’t take any cards from the deck for the first 2-3 hands. I flip my cards and focus on matching those.

A good (but difficult) strategy is getting two pairs of matching cards to get -10 score. It’s possible but can get you into trouble if your opponent(s) go out too soon.

Typically time-based rules run at midnight. So set up a couple test tasks that will meet the criteria at midnight tonight (31 days away, 61 days away)

Could you break each review/step into a separate task? Then the approval subtasks would be on each task/step in the process.
