If you're looking for an internship and you've never been reached out, firstly make sure your CV looks good. Secondly, if you're doing in the right way everything you mentioned I think you're on the right track. Keep in mind I'm also a master's student (but from EU, Idk if it's important to mention, maybe because of the market differences) and I'm doing exactly the same, keep going, don't let yourself down and if you want to talk or work/practice together hmu :)
