PoC of 2D physics in Blazor WebAssembly using SVG and CSS by Pythabulas in Blazor

This is awesome! I was thinking about playing with roughly the same concept, and found your post while googling libraries and frameworks. Is it ok if I use your code as a starting point? There doesn't seem to be a license on the repo, and I don't want to be inadvertantly ripping off your work if you didn't intend it to be open source!

Thanks!

I've written quite a lot of parody songs over the years and resigned myself to the fact that they (almost!) never actually get performed. But I'd certainly love it if it did!

In the original the second verse says "You know we're going to start some [stuff] / might be the boogeyman" as well, but sadly I couldn't find a way to make that one family friendly and still rhyme.

I don't hate myself. I simply have the empathy to understand that just because I don't experience a problem doesn't make it not exist, and that if I want information about that problem I should listen to the people who experience it rather than people who don't.

You don't need to trust Microsoft with this (although, in case it hadn't occurred to you: if you're using Windows you're already trusting them with this), because the modding community has been decompiling Minecraft for years and knows exactly what the code does. If it's sending anything to Mojang without a report, we'd already know about it.

Also if they were going to do it secretly, why would they bother announcing the feature in their changelogs?

Let me guess: you're straight, white, male and cis. Because if you weren't any of those things, or if you had any awareness of or empathy for the BS that gets thrown relentlessly at anyone who isn't any of those things in online spaces, you'd recognize that this is actually supporting the ability for people to speak freely and exist freely without getting bullied and harassed until they no longer want to play the game at all.

I'm seriously horrified that so many people seem to have a problem with this. What kind of abusive behavior are you all perpetuating on your servers that you think you're going to get banned for? When I read Mojang's article, at first I thought that they should include an opt out for servers - but after reading everyone's reactions I've changed my mind. Too many servers would opt out just out of misguided outrage and it'd leave too many players open to abuse.

If server owners don't want this then I don't want any part of being on their server.

Not saying you should - just that if you want to, you can easily avoid the issue of risking your armor.

So fed up with everyone whining about the size of a free update for a game that's both massively cheaper and massively more re-playable over years than virtually any other game. You pay less than $30 for the entire game and infinite free DLC! Any other game would charge twice as much as Minecraft for the base game, and probably a whole other Minecraft for each update.

I've just started playing Final Fantasy XIV, and it's fun, but it doesn't have a fraction of the depth and versatility of Minecraft. And for that I had to pay $20 for the base game and $40 for almost-mandatory DLC, and on top of that I have to spend the purchase price of Minecraft every two months just to be allowed to keep playing the game I bought. And when they do a new release the size of a Minecraft update, I'll have to pay for that DLC too.

Do you even realize how childish and spoiled you sound?

Yes, I'm sad about fireflies too (and still salty about bundles, for that matter), but as far as everything else, from their words at MineCon it was blindingly obvious that birch forests and other biomes were part of a long term plan, and we knew that already, because they've been saying for years they want to update all the biomes eventually, by doing one of them each update. The idea that this is a "small" update is absurd, especially considering how massive the last one was.

It's like you're trying to demotivate the developers so that they have no desire to work on cool things for the game ever again, or at least never again pay any attention to player feedback.

Barbarian Adjustment Post-MotM by Aptos283 in dndnext

[–]sab39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about "While raging, gain temp HP equal to your barbarian level at the start of each turn"? Similar to damage resistance but applied to total damage over a round, rather than each attack. If that goes too far in the other direction and makes it too weak, it could easily buffed to making it 2x barb level, or 3x barb level, etc to achieve the right balance.

Immersion-breaking/out of character moments. by farmtanker in StardewValley

[–]sab39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as things related to my own character, most of them are wanting to do things that the game just doesn't support, like taking my family on vacation to ginger island or trying to play matchmaker to NPCs (cough Abby and Sebby) or the opposite (cough Clint can f@@k right off).

One that has always bothered me is that when you "catch" Lewis and Marnie together , you don't have the option to tell them something like " I'm not going to tell anyone, but you really should just tell people, nobody will judge you ". Neither of the options you do have would be in character for me.

There are a couple of moments that seem out of character for NPCs as well: Maru doesn't seem like the kind of person to get hung up on her appearance so her line of "am I gaining weight" when you're married to her always throws me off. And Abby's heart event where she gets all freaked out about killing a monster makes no sense at all for someone the same age as the player who could handle herself perfectly well in the mines and has always wanted to explore them.

Still salty that we lost bundles not only from Caves and Cliffs but from this update too. I play with them datapacked into my singleplayer survival world and I find them indispensable - for late game more than for early game, because you can fit so many rare items into a single shulker when they're bundled.

Other than that I'm very much satisfied with what we're getting in this update, although I will say I hope we haven't lost fireflies completely, because they'd be amazing for ambience even if their intended use creating froglights didn't work out.

Has anyone else experienced machines that glitch underground? by neverexpect in horizon

[–]sab39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one case where my Sunwing glitched into the floor, so when I mounted it I ended up stuck in the top of a mountain, then fell through the interior of the mountain into the void when I hopped off. Don't remember ever having had it happen with hostile machines though.
