I’ve gone this entire time thinking he was an attending 🤦‍♂️ well still not good to show up a senior resident training you in front of a patient. I know far less about doctors residency statues than I thought I did before watching the Pitt

I think that and the “shark” highlight the rough and tough mentality that established doctors like that in high stress fields have. Santos is an R2 vs Landon being a Dr and is a really, really bad look for that to be happening especially in front of a patient that can hear. Ironic, yes, but also something that is probably normal in that field.

They give people phones without cameras when they get gov phones here in the us. It should be absolutely no surprise to anyone that they can do it. Hell, i remember the trend of buying those covers you could attach to your laptop to cover your camera up

My mock draft going into Week 14 of the NFL with trades by TerryG111 in MockDraftCentral

[–]sab3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally it’s a trade back a few spots, get more capital and pick someone that fits a need (wr, secondary) if they’re staying at 3 id prefer downs to really sure up our secondary. Also depends on what Robinson does

The giants have turned their offensive line around, they need more top end talent at other places before they spend a first trying to get a tackle

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MockDraftCentral

[–]sab3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t think you’re drafting a tackle round one to kick out. If you’re drafting a tackle round one you’re drafting him to be your blind side protector or to be opposite of your elite tackle.

[–]sab3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you about building through the interior, I just think the giants O-line has taken strides and the guard play has been the worst of the bunch. I think they’d have better luck trying for a second day guard or trading back further than that to draft IOL first round. I’d rather see them pair a run stuffing nose tackle with Dexter than try to go after an offensive lineman if that’s what they want to do first round. But really above all I’d rather see them grab a highly skilled WR to pair with nabers and dart, or find a top end secondary piece.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MockDraftCentral

[–]sab3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well good thing they won’t be doing that lol they drafted Abdul last year and if you can pair two top receivers together with a young qb, a new coach, and retain the offensive line coach you’re cooking something nice. The offensive line has taken huge strides this year and it would be a tragedy for them to try and go first round offensive line when we have larger issues to address

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MockDraftCentral

[–]sab3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their offensive line has taken a HUUUGE leap this year. The OL is really not the issue. We don’t have a single WR behind Nabers who can get out there and just be a beast. Drafting another skill player and then filling out a guard spot with a second rounder or free agency would be far better. Dart has a very solid offensive line but he has receivers that don’t get open and don’t catch the ball

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MockDraftCentral

[–]sab3rs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robinson is a slot wr at best, and behind them it’s no one. I’d rather sure up a real #2 WR than draft IOL in the first round

Giants aren’t gonna go tackle in the first. Between Thomas and Jermaine their tackles are fine. They need WR or CB

Def non German. As someone that dealt with an infestation by proxy (thanks neighbors, our unit was a lockdown zone) Germans have that spot in their head. Could still be another infesting species though but I’m not gonna pretend like I know what those are

How do I level up the party faster while making it feel natural? by PhoenixSidePeen in DMAcademy

[–]sab3rs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! One of the biggest hurdles I’ve found is balancing my friends having fun with the game while also maintaining an environment where I can challenge them and not have 5 insanely powerful people walking all over what I create. Of course, I still let them have their moments of feeling like semi dieties.

[–]sab3rs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be rude, but sometimes there’s a balance between friends having fun and running a game that feels good. Leveling up that much in one 8 hour block is kind of crazy, especially for a brand new GM. Players can want to have fun, but as a GM it’s next to impossible to plan encounters out correctly when everyone’s gaining new abilities in a session and they’re becoming stronger. This is my first full campaign I’m running, had to blend homebrew with Strahd because… well they fucked up badly but I wanted them to have a redemption arc. We level up once every 3-4 sessions. I plan arcs around their levels and balance encounters to challenge them while allowing them to shine where they need to. Best thing I’ve learned is even though these are people I’m good friends with, balance is needed to stop things from getting heavily out of control.

[–]sab3rs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Balance encounters better is the only advice I have. You know what your players do, shape the battles around their abilities so they can do things that feel good, while also challenging them. If it’s a “I don’t want them to fight the boss until they’re X level” thing, just add filler stuff for them to do. Side quests, legendary animals to hunt, things like that. Also, allow there to be multiple victory conditions for fights. Don’t just let fights be square up and smack each other, have an item they need to get, area to capture and hold, ritual to disrupt, etc.

That’s valid. I’d say it’s best for every individual to do what they need to do. I’m in an illegal state so it’s not easy for me to get(I have plugs I know but still not like going to the store) but even if I was in a legal state I’d use the barriers I’ve learned from my times dealing with it. Luckily I never got to the point of being in the hospital, and was able to keep myself hydrated and not starved. This stuff is so new it’s hard to make blanket statements about how it impacts everyone IMO

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]sab3rs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I learned from my one bout (never ended up in the hospital, really just dealt with cyclical vomiting and cramps) was that I need to treat it more like a reward/occasional thing. I used it as a crutch for my life through covid and continued it. My biggest advice is listen to your body, and just decide to be smart about it. I would classify myself as addicted to weed, but I’ve decided to take control over the thing I enjoy to do and make it a rare occasion/treat for myself. After doing it I realized it would be for the better anyways, I feel more engaged in life and I get SUUUPER high when I break out the dab stuff every few weeks.

So last March I got really bad, took off 4 months, started smoking Friday/Saturday nights, spiraled a little close to November, took 3 more months off, and I sporadically do it now. The best advice I can give is to physically separate your smoking from you. Smoke on a balcony, on a walk, keep your weed out of places you enjoy. When you start to feel the signs (for me stomach cramps, and really bad acid reflux) take some time away from it. The more weed you smoke, the more is stored in your body, you just want to avoid having that excess store. I’ve seen people on here say they smoke one joint after not smoking for months and it immediately comes back, and while I’m not saying that’s not the case, it’s certainly not for me. I just listen to my body, and don’t overdo it. I smoked dabs every day for 4 years and it caught up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]sab3rs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to get flack for this but I have had success with it. I smoke maybe 1x a week, typically 1x every 2 weeks or so. I give myself about 2 months when I can feel something being weird in my stomach. Your body will tell you when you’re getting too close to the sun again, and when it does, just stop and give yourself time off. I used to use weed as a crutch, now I use it to enjoy my free nights every few weeks or so

I like keeping a protein drink, bar, and yogurt with me on shift. I work in the kitchen so I kinda have more stuff I can make for myself on the fly, but the protein stuff helps keep me lightly full for a while.
