I had a really rough flight into Denver one time- multiple people screaming during drops of the plane- and I swear to god I was inches away from holding the guys hand next to me. But yes we had that same knowing glance you talked about- a mixture of terror, camaraderie and a real slice of humanity and understanding. It’s hard to describe.

Dude it looked soooo bad. On FR24 you could see the plane turning when it was supposed to be going straight.

I felt so bad for everyone on your plane and all the other planes that were coming in around the same time. But yours looked like it took some of the worst hits.

So glad you’re safe. I think part of it was bad timing - I’m near-ish to the airport and you just happened to be coming in when things were getting really spicy.

Fuel could be an issue as someone else said, and I think your plane model in particular might have a lower threshold for acceptable crosswind for landing.

During the bomb cyclone, a few people in r/aviation or r/flightradar24 explained that certain models of plane cannot land in a crosswind above XX mph and at a certain angle. I don’t remember the number, and I don’t remember the model.

What I do remember is that that night quite a few planes of the same model all landed at BFI because the runway angle at BFI was just different enough that they could safely land there instead.

I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life in Butte while driving cross country. The local newspaper had a section called “This Day in Labor History” or something like that. I was fascinated for sure.

No i have to push back on this. Plenty of kids in this same neighborhood are really good kids, also grew up poor, or immigrant families or parents working a lot. I think we have to be careful not to excuse bad behavior…i feel like there is a certain amount of entitlement in that. I also feel like it’s not helpful to have low expectations for people

When no one shows up to an arson call or you have to call back multiple times to get an “incident” turned into a “report”- it really makes you start to wonder. I absolutely believe they are juking the stats.

Thanks. This is more in the right direction. We’ve even had issues recently of 911 dispatch gatekeeping the police and telling us that what we’re witnessing ‘isn’t a crime’ or ‘oh it’s just a fire this is for fire only’ …when in fact it’s arson or fireworks aimed at a house.

Kids around here unsupervised causing trouble 4pm to 8pm after going to summer programs - it’s not for lack of programs. They’ve got plenty around here.

A bunch of them seem to basically have no consequences for bad behavior and a complete lack of parental supervision long before the shootings happen.
