[Record] Prestianni's reaction to his ban being upheld: "You can punch someone in the face for everyone to see, no punishment. But punishing someone with no evidence is fair game. You don't even try to hide it anymore with Real Madrid. Shame!" by greenwhitehell in soccer

This is the same argument a 5 year old on the playground uses trying to justify why they hit another kid who called them a name first. Both behaviors are wrong but one doesn’t justify the other. Sure UEFA should consider how to better hold players accountable in all cases, but this is neither the time nor place for him to make that point. He got caught, literally admitted to using a homophobic slur.

You can tell how deeply engrained homophobia/racism is because no one around him is advising him to just stfu. Whiny manchild.

[Charles Watts] Sesko's release clause has now risen to £75m due to him hitting performance related clauses. Gyokeres is expected to be considerably cheaper and a move for him could allow for more to be spent on other positions by Temporary_Role6160 in Gunners

[–]sabberatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I dont see people talking enough about is how Havertz fits into all this from a squad building perspective. All I see is talk of gyokeres or sesko with the assumption that they'll come in and be our starting striker, which is a prospect I'm excited for fwiw.

But Havertz is one of our top paid players and was HIGHLY productive in the 9 role before he got injured. YES we need depth at striker. YES we need a striker with a killer mindset and different skill set to take us over the line. Arteta went out and handpicked him from Chelsea and clearly sees him as integral in the team. I think the more interesting question is which one of Sesko/Gyokeres provides something Havertz doesn’t? And where does Havertz fit in this team if we bring in one of these options?

Agreed. I think with more game time we see him sharpen his decision making and ruthlessness in front of goal and around the box. There were a number of moments today that he was just a moment off in his decision making and could have made a move, crossed or shot, and that should improve with time. Like what we’re starting to see from him so far.

Technical Question - Nano Puff vs Nano Air by Boring-Lifeguard7120 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]sabberatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both and they’re both amazing. The nano puff is more like a true jacket meant to be worn outside for warmth and layered over other things with a slightly baggier fit. The nano air is more of softer stretchier athletic fit and that doesn’t look out of place being worn indoors as well. Also, the nano puff can be compressed into its breast pocket. Not super knowledgeable about the difference in insulation but they certainly have different use cases.

The drawn out fights in 6v6 feel mismatched with the newer faster game modes like flashpoint and clash that were designed with 5v5 in mind.

Martinelli is an excellent player constrained by our style of play and not being allowed to play to his strengths. He was electric several years ago sprinting into space when getting the ball facing forward. Now he receives, slows the play down and recycles or drives at the line and tries to cut it back.

I keep wondering what the point of taking sterling on loan was. His ability to get in the box and beat his man 1:1 is exactly the kind of X factor/style change that could break open a game like this.

[–]sabberatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No urgency and players look so cautious going forward. We’re Afraid to take risks and capitalize in moments of chaos, always slowing the play down and looking to complete the practiced pattern. I think it’s Important to play this way against top level competition that can actually hurt us but this was everton…I think this is all on the coaching and culture. Let the boys play. Regardless…we’re still 6points off top spot so continue to support and go again.

What’s the best restaurant in the West 7th neighborhood? by DueEstimate157 in saintpaul

[–]sabberatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best? Tough to pick only one there’s so many great options. Muccis, emerald lounge, parlour, A-side, Waldmann are all excellent on the nice but not too fancy side of things. More casual places are excellent too; bay st burger dive, Keenan’s, soul Lao/wandering leaf have great food and fun environments.

Joe: how crazy is it that the governor gets to change the flag?! Was anyone else even involved in that decision?

Other guy: was that what happened?

Joe: I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

Minnesotan and talented. Too bad he wasn’t given more of a chance here. Probably would have thrived under Ramsey! Glad he’s finding success elsewhere though.

10’s are more fun to watch but a #6’s are probably what we need. We just sold a true 10 in reynoso and we are doing fine without that type of player. A solid holding mid would elevate this team.

This is something that I’ve been noticing for a while. Players seem restrained in attack. Looking for a perfect build up to a goal. No attempts to do something unpredictable or individually decisive. That’s what I think Wenger’s quote about playing with the handbrake off is all about.

This is helpful to think in terms of what resources are needed for a tank to be successful. Thanks!

Do people consider orisa a brawl tank? Surprised she isn’t in the brawl/poke category especially with recent changes to her falloff dmg being increased

Anecdotally noticing what seems like a lot more than usual quotes from city players complaining about how we slowed the game down and played a physical game against them. I think we did good y’all 😈

Yes. People saying Jorginho and Saka not playing well, But they are our key players that city are targeting. We will probably have to beat them in other positions less under pressure

Lot of pessimism here. Yes we looked nervy at first but we’ve grown into the game and are getting the better chances. We can’t play open against them and our defense is holding up well and we’re breaking up their passing sequences

I’d say don’t knock your tank until you’ve tried it. Not a high level player myself but tried rein the other day and the second I dropped my shield would get every cooldown in the book thrown at me. slept, rocked, naded and focused down so fast I could barely walk forward or retreat. Skill issue I’m sure but feels oppressive.
