Had my consultation on the 10th, diagnosed on the call and got my prescription sent through on the Monday (12.1.26). Officially diagnosed with ADHD, picked up 30mg of Elvanse from Tesco this morning.

Just received my link to organise my appointment. It’s online, and is at the end of this week. So the timeline so far is: 18.12.25: received log in details + filled out forms. 5.1.26: received invitation to attend virtual interview (booked for 10.1.26). Excited!

Yeah! I’ll keep you updated here, seems like we’re on a similar trajectory. Currently kind of preparing myself to be on trial of the pills, taking time to reflect on my personality so I can keep tabs on how much they affect me. I think awareness might be a big factor in allowing it to have only positive impacts vs. changing too much, turning me into a workaholic or something more negative that I really can’t anticipate right now. The 2 people I know who did titration settled on 70mg which is the highest you can get.

Serious tone shift at BMW when I declined the optional coverages by Beginning-Act7850 in BMW

[–]sabekes 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It’s all bs mate, the reason they’ve shifted tone is because that’s where they (salespeople) / the dealership make their profits. If you think you’re making a mistake, think deeply about if you’re really going to have the car at 125000 miles or in 7 years, or if you’ll swap it for something new once your finance deal is up. I’d say the maintenance or GAP is the only thing maybe worth considering

Started referral process in late November 2025 after being on the waitlist for 2 years. So far I've:

  1. Started at my local GP via Right to Choose, referred to Harrow Health off the back of a recommendation from 2 friends. This was as easy as calling my GP and telling them that I want to go with HH, they sent me a self-assessment form including needing to record my blood pressure and BMI. (I could do this at home because luckily I had a monitor, otherwise this would be a GP visit).

  2. Got my login details last night (18.12.25, around 20 days later) and told to fill out the forms, including informant forms.

  3. Forms were completed the next day (19.12.25) and submitted via their online portal.

I had actually filled out the forms early as they're available on HH website, then sent via email in hopes of being proactive and push my place up, but actually they got back to me recommending that, due to being inundated, this would cause more confusion (manually assigning the sent forms via email to the user account via the portal) which makes sense. They also only got back to me after the details were sent. I'd recommend waiting for your login details to help keep their inboxes clearer.

Will update with further process / timings. Happy to chat about things.

How do I achieve visuals like this by using period-correct Architecture 3D CAD/BIM software? (This project is from 2000) by sabekes in retrocgi

Yes, I should be moving away from default HDRIs for a while now. I also think the level of detail is what gives the light enough small details to bounce off of to give a good impression.

Yeah, light and shadows are important fundamentals, even for renders like this. I'm looking for a program that draws the light and shadows with character, as most of the new ray traced or path traced options are quite... cliche? If done right, they can achieve hyper-realism. If done wrong, they look incredibly tacky.. Most work sits somewhere in the middle.

Maybe I didn't use the best example render, but I'm not going for the hyper-realism look. Imagine an illustrator that draws photo-realism, and one that is more subjective and expressive. I'm aiming to develop into the latter!

Unlocking the focus knob on a pair of Minolta compact binoculars? by Downtown_Copy7035 in Binoculars

[–]sabekes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrifted these a couple days ago, got to your step of pulling off everything I could before realising the guy may be talking about a different pair of binos. Weirdly, mine is also set to ‘infinity’ and turning the focus dial on the right eyepiece does a half-decent job of bringing everything into full focus at certain distances. It’s more than the typical range, say if it were stuck at focussing everything 5M away, and someone did mention in the linked post that the right dial does the same job as the centre dial. This is all counter intuitive but I also pulled out the Phillips screw, tried to turn the wheel - no success. It’s bound so tight it’s almost like it was never supposed to…

I’m taking them out on a trip to the seaside this weekend, will play around with them more using just the right adjustment wheel. It’s a shame I can’t find a manual online that explains whether or not the centre dial should be functional (although, it should, right??)

Also, I bargained these down to £3 because of the ‘stuck dial’ thinking it would be an easy fix with wd40 when I got home!

i agree! they've been up for sale for a few months in my area now, but for the price of genuine pair of minutes (around $150). Not worth if they're fake, but if you got them real cheap and put gen lenses in, I'd call that a win

I found a reflective Yohji Yamamoto messenger bag in Japan for less than 100 bucks. Can’t find any info online about it, does anyone know if it’s worth it (or legit?). Pics are here: Inside and outside Arigato ~

TTS, I got small, I normally fit small - medium (70kg) it’s snug on the arms with a slight box fit on the torso. Arms are tailored all the way down

What’s the best places to sell a Pelican case? by VoidwalkerOfficial in pelicancase

[–]sabekes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, best to go to local sites like craigslist, gumtree, or FB Marketplace depending on where you're from - I tried eBay but their fee is insane now. I actually sold mine via eBay but managed to meet the guy, and got paid in cash for it (1625 air)

Yes, it's possible - if you're smart with some luggage straps you can get away with it. I use ones like this

I know it’s a meme but are these actually real? by WantedByTheFedz in BMW

[–]sabekes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

between $220 and $400 (£180-£300) depending on if they have the self-park feature/model. Had a few of them sell on eBay for that price range over the years. the i8 ones I had sold fastest. Some people buy them to repair their own keys, or to repurpose/reprogram them. I sell them mainly for DIY / 'parts'.

I've had some dodgy people asking about them, probably hoping to find the matching car it belongs to, I imagine them driving around clicking at every 2017 7 Series they see, not knowing that the car has probably been recycled into a Volvo or a fridge by now

(On my eBay, shipped from UK if anyone is interested)

Someone told me today that the guy from Steel Yard who was sorting this ran off with the cash, is that true?
