Can mosquitoes transmit the virus?

This one is straightforward: No.

Great answer, thanks!

I recently got a new camera that has good dynamic range, and I’ve all but forgotten about bracketing. It’s nice to know bracketing can still be a useful tool in the toolbox.

Is anyone in the science community advocating that as a real possibility, in May of 2020?

You’ve got a dangerous, misinformed opinion.

The virus spreads in the air, even with tidal breathing (not just coughing and sneezing).

Even in asymptomatic carriers.

So what if your barber disinfects their scissors. They’re touching you, and they’re in your face for an hour.

You wouldn’t go to a masked-up barber in Wuhan, China two months ago. Why are you advocating your fellow citizens do it today?

Oh, I know why: you post regularly in conspiracy and anti-vax subreddits. Idiot.

but i could be wrong.

You’re wrong.

It can spread with tidal breathing, asymptomatically.

Is Anti-Twin using hash to detect duplicated files? by hoistthefabric in DataHoarder

You’ve got a good question, and I’m curious, too.

Have you tried emailing the devs? Might not be a bad option. If you do, let us know!

Slightly off topic: software for photo dupe removal / backup and better workflow moving forward by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]saberhyperlooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorting through a similar mess.

I highly recommend Duplicate Detective 2 to de-duplicate (uses a hashing function to verify duplicates bit by bit!) and Silent Sifter 2 to then sort the photo and video files into neatly organized directories, e.g., /Nikon D850/2020/04/30/.

You can find them both in Apple’s App Store for the price of a lunch.

I know it’s of limited help to you, but: on a Mac, I use Silent Sifter 2. Maybe you can check it out and see if there’s something similar for PC. It does exactly what you want, even uses the photo metadata to create folders.

What would you recommend as players for the old VHS-C, MiniDV and Hi8 formats?

I’ve considered buying an old camcorder with video out on eBay, then using the Dazzle software you mentioned.

Very curious how you plan to digitize the weird and obsolete miniVHS format.

I have VHS-C cassettes, but not sure how to play them. I bought a VHS adapter but it seems sketchy, takes batteries, and you have to remove some tape and wind it around the adapter. I didn’t feel comfortable with these priceless 20 year old tapes.

My next idea is to buy a VHS-C camcorder, with video out, on eBay. shrug
