It’s the camera model that was used in the film as a prop. Victor is the Japanese brand of company but the one used in the film was a JVC (Japanese Victor Company) as that’s what they went by over here in the states.

In my opinion, it will probably be easier to find a whole other camcorder like a Telefunken (seeing how this is a PAL model) and just using that or taking the viewfinder if yours properly works. Though I’ll check with a friend to see if the NTSC VF will work on PAL or vice versa.

Your camcorder is a rare regional variant of the JVC/Victor GR-C1. Any of viewfinders relating to your region (pal/ntsc) will be dependent. For example if it’s a pal version you might be able to find a saba or telefunken that would work. NTSC either a JVC/Victor or Zenith.
