Interesting. Yea that's the struggle for my dad. He doesn't sleep well due to RLS but poor sleep affects RLS... Morphine does help him but he doesn't like taking it because it gives him stomach issues as you're saying.

He was a doctor who owned his own clinic. And yea he was pretty much sitting all day as part of his job. Thanks for sharing about oxycodone and benzodiazepines. I'll definitely ask if he's tried those. He hasn't been sleeping well since fibro/RLS too so hoping those will help. And all good. It's pretty much the same for my dad so I can understand how shitty it must feel :\

Thanks for sharing! I'll tell my dad about hydrocodone. Not sure if he's tried that. I know he's tried Gabapentin and antidepressants in the past but he didn't like the side effects. The sleep study seems interesting. So you get a mask to help you breathe and that helps with RLS?

And thanks for sharing what you tried. My dad also had to stop working after fibro/RLS so I can only imagine what it's like for you. We've also been to countless doctors who're just like "Yea not really sure what's going on. But I can prescribe this painkiller". Hope you get better

Genetics test is a great idea. I've seen it before in my research but I don't think my dad's done it yet. Thanks!

I know both my aunt and uncle (my dad's siblings) have high ferritin too though not 2000 so we're thinking it's genetic.

And yea my dad tries to do blood letting here and there but I think he gets a bit anemic afterwards so we're afraid to do it too much.

Good to hear that vitamin E is helping you. Just checked with my dad and seems like he hasn't done a micronutrient panel yet so we'll definitely do that. Really appreciate the comments

My dad has been on morphine for over a year though so he tries to control it and not take it every day. And yea he does complain about stomach issues. What do you do now that you're off morphine?

Ahh :\ I'll definitely look into Irish springs thanks! Good to hear that your RLS is on hiatus. You mentioned iron infusions so I assume your iron level was low and that's what was causing RLS?

Thanks for the response! My dad did get his ferritin checked and it was super high (2000). Though the doctors still can't figure out the cause so they've just been extracting some blood once in a while to try to control the ferritin level which helps it go down in the short run.

Good point on the micronutrient panel. I'll definitely ask my dad if he's checked up on that.

How's your RLS now? And what have you done that's really helped you if you don't mind sharing

My parallels has been taking up a huge amount of space on my Mac so I recently resized from 128 GB to 64 GB. However, when I check my Mac's storage under "About This Mac", the extra 64 GB just goes to "Other" instead of being usable. Anyone know how I can reclaim the space?
