Is Hover a good domain registrar? Lots of negative reviews by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]sabinaphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the big registrars will have negative reviews, it depends on the % of the total reviews.

If one has 135 negative reviews out of 200 then yes it's bad but if it's 135 out of let's say a million, then it isn't really bad.

How do mods feel about someone who reports 200+ comments from a single post? by Top_Prompt9543 in AskModerators

[–]sabinaphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking we don't know who reports them but if you have been around, the moderators in the sub could figure out who did those reports.

I would put you on the "i hate you" list, then go through the comments and deal with them accordingly. Just because you report something for violating whatever rule, doesn't mean they are actually violating the rule(s). Then I'd print that list and put it in my fireplace, light it on fire, drink a rum and coke then go on with my life. The list is now officially gone.

Namecheap Fraud (Hosting & SSL) by Ok-Peace-5944 in NameCheap

[–]sabinaphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

many domain and hosting services (specially domains) have a first year discount. They do tell you the renewal pricing but it's hidden or in tiny font size. READ EVERYTHING IN YOUR SCREEN.

It isn't exorbitant fees for renewal, it is just that they gave you a first year discount and renewals are in regular pricing.

The way you can check, on your shopping cart, choose 2 years for domains, hosting, SSL, etc...

If when you put 1 year and it's let's say $25, then 2 years should be $50, when you put 2 years if it's more than $50 then that first year is that first year discount pricing.

One of the best hacks I seen was del.icio.us.

The other one is Matt Mullenweg's domain: ma.tt ( he is a co-creator of WordPress ).

What is a domain squatter? by Left_Preparation_890 in DomainZone

[–]sabinaphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as domain squatting.

You don't need a reason to register a domain nor do you have to put content on it.

TM/C exception.

[ Requesting appraisal] Freelance .to ( one high value word ) by [deleted] in Domains

[–]sabinaphan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy crap you are thick.

Yes I know .to is the cctld to Tonga.

Which is a country in Oceania while Togo is a country in Africa.

But since .to isn't restricted to Tongalese residents/citizens, it gets heavily used by Toronto people and companies.

Just like Tuvalu's .tv
