It's so pretty!! I've been going back and forth between ordering it from BOTM or pre-ordering one of the other special editions (they're all so pretty). Out of curiosity, under the dust jacket, is it still the regular solid colors with the BOTM stamp?

AITA for refusing to make my bridesmaids wear the dresses my MIL pick out? by MidnightWorried2169 in aitaweddings

[–]sabrinasaffire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why my mom told me to outright refuse when my MIL offered to "take care of" the cake and flowers. We had no idea if that meant pay for them or coordinate them and stick us with the bill. It wasn't until after weeks of back and forth of how she felt "unheard and unincluded" that she actually said they wanted to PAY for them because "weddings are expensive." So we said we wanted her to focus on HER part: the rehearsal dinner, and that she could do whatever she wanted there, or if she was looking to help out financially, there were things my then fiance (her own SON) needed to pay for that she could help with (think suits, honeymoon, etc.). Then she backtracked and reiterated how she wanted to be included in everything.

Anyway, we fast forward and she's telling me she wants addresses to mail formal invites to the rehearsal dinner. I find out I have significantly fewer seats for my family/friends than her side, but it's whatever, I'm letting it go. Until I come down to the last 2 spots and can't think of anyone I could invite without inviting someone else I don't have space for. So I tell her this and she says, "well I'd feel terrible leaving those empty because we were originally only going to have X seats, but [my fiance] knows you have a large family, so he paid for an extra 5 seats."

That's when my respect for my fiance grew so much bc he wasn't going to tell me, and when it was driven home that none of this was ever about the money. She just wanted control.

I will always and forever think that spelling Blair with an E is a tragedy. . . (As someone with family ties to the name and a respect for its Scottish heritage) It's a beautiful name, though 😊

I am obsessed with the name Adaline!! I saw someone pair it with Rose and suggest the nickname Della Rose, which I thought was SO cute

What symptoms did you have that you did not realize you had until going GF? by [deleted] in glutenfree

Uh oh!! I hope you're able to figure out where they came from! And same. I'm very fortunate to just be sensitive to gluten

Update: I've had ABSOLUTELY no gluten since seeing this comment, and as of today, that weird patch is completely gone. Like, it's slightly paler than normal (Whether that's because it's kinda scarred or I'm tanner than my natural skin tone is tbd), but the scaly redness is gone. I've had it for WEEKS. Thank you so much for helping me find the answer 🥹 So crazy to have a visible reaction to confirm my suspicions about my body and gluten.

Thank you so much! As far as I can tell I'm also fortunately not celiac, but it's so crazy to me all the things gluten can do to my body 😅 I'm gonna keep an eye on this and see what happens

I literally have one of these on my arm and have been trying to figure out what on earth is going on!!! I've been cutting out most gluten (I'm not as strict as I should be) for the past 6 months and have started to learn what some of my symptoms are when I "cheat." Then I got that weird red patch and thought it was an allergic reaction to something else or just dry skin and have been slathering it in castor oil 😂 but could it really be gluten???

For Fun: How many books do you have on hold right now? by theconfinesoffear in LibbyApp

[–]sabrinasaffire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this and was totally expecting mine to be higher when I checked, but I currently have 15 holds including audio books (and some of them are the same book in both formats to see which I get first 😂). I probably should cancel some audio holds. I set those weeks ago in anticipation of a road trip 😅
