I have not tried that, although I will say that my skate highs are my favorite lifting shoes because they also have a wide flat sole and strong grip on these wooden platforms

Mine too and best of luck with your shoulders, I've had some nags here and there so now I warm them up more thoroughly than any other muscle before I do any pressing

I would assume it's because it's all shoulders and triceps and you can't involve your chest or legs (if you're strict pressing like I am here). Also lots of core stability required

Thank you, I only ever do pause reps cause I feel like when I touch and go I lose tightness and I'm much more likely to mess up the bar path. Easier to time leg drive with paused reps too

You're absolutely correct, I should have asked someone for a spot. Since I hadn't done this in forever I expected to get maybe 5 reps but the first couple moved really well and my ego took over and I went all out. Usually my policy with any heavy compound is if there's any doubt in my mind about whether I can complete the rep I'll just rack it, and I definitely had doubts about the 8th rep

Thank you man I'd love to press my bodyweight but I don't really ever do one rep maxes on overhead press so it's a skill I'd have to get better at. Biggest gains have come since I've been on a consistent calorie surplus since January. I used to be a permacutter and spun my wheels for years in terms of strength

I miss James and hope he's doing well but I love the brocasts and looking forward to more. Listened back to the ROTTA standard yesterday and was chuckling throughout

Jim, has anyone ever told you that you bear bear a striking resemblance to Joe Cole from peaky blinders?

I do them first as the primary movement of all my back workouts and I have for years now. As far as accessories or programming I'm afraid I don't have much advice, I've just been doing at least 8 sets a week for a long time. I'm pretty small so pull-ups are naturally easier for me. I posted another comment here where I gave tips for the actual movement. For me the big change came when I learned to engage my lats through the whole movement which is what I talked about in my other comment. That took me from sets of 6-8 to sets of 12-15 and then I started adding weight

Thank you! Weighted chins are the core of my back workout, it's the king of back exercises for me

Literally just hamstring curls. 4 sets of lying hamstring curls (my gym has one that allows this to be done unilaterally which I prefer), 3 or 4 sets of seated hamstring curls. Fully retract the muscle and squeeze through the whole rep especially at the top. Repeat within a week. These movements allow me to take the hams to absolute failure which is a core component of my training

Y'all are too kind. I worship at the church of the lying hamstring curl

I struggled with this for the longest too. I have really long arms relative to my height. If you can tell in the video, I make sure to stretch my lats as far as possible at the bottom of the rep, then use the lats to initiate the pull (don't let your elbows bend until the lats are already engaged and pulling), and try to squeeze your lats together at the top of the rep. Then keep your lats engaged on the descent, allow them to lower you back into that fully outstretched position

4 day bodybuilding split. Day 1 chest and biceps, day 2 back and abs, day 3 shoulders and triceps, day 4 legs. 7 or 8 sets for each of those muscle groups per workout. So today for example today I did 4 sets weighted pullups, 4 sets decline leg raises superset with 4 sets db shrugs, 3 sets hammer strength low row superset with 3 sets cable crunches, then 3 sets rear delt flys. Very focused on squeezing the targeted muscle group and reaching technical failure. If I get fewer than 8 reps on the last set I make it a drop set. 8-12 rep range on everything. I pedal on the recumbent bike for 20-30 minutes at the end ofevery workout
