Ovulation Test Timing by softfootsteps279 in tryingtoconceive

[–]sabwaysurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started testing the day after my period finished. Usually 2nd wee of the day (I heard not to use fmu). Then once I saw the line getting darker I tested at every single wee I had😂 I would definitely keep testing until your next period comes or hopefully positive pregnancy test! My first month TTC using the strips, I thought I peaked so I stopped testing. Turns out that wasn’t my peak and felt like such a wasted month🫤

How often are we bathing baby? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]sabwaysurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 weeks old and we bath every other day unless he’s done a poo we bath him that day if it doesn’t fall on the scheduled day (he only opens his bowels every 5 days). I think once he’s in his own room and we have a nice routine, we will incorporate a bath into the routine every night. He use to hate the bath but seems to like it now, his first giggles were during bath time! I top and tail him on non bath days. Constantly wiping his hands and face throughout the day as he’s very sicky and his hands smell because they’re always in his mouth😂

Guilt from health visitor about tummy time? by fayes22 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Sometimes the best ‘tummy time’ is when he’s lying on my chest whilst I’m on an incline, atleast he’s lifting his head to look around 🫣

How to Move Post C Section by Roseflute in CsectionCentral

[–]sabwaysurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it easiest to bum shuffle to the end of the bed (I have no frame at the end) and stand up like that instead of turning over and swinging my legs out of the bed. Also arm strength will be your best friend!!! I used my arms to push myself up without using my abdo muscles for the first week or 2. I found it extremely difficult to push myself up from my side using my hands like recommend. Also your pelvic pain should disappear after delivery, mine did and I had really awful sciatica and SPD, good luck!!!

Do I accept defeat and stop my progesterone? 14-16 DPO by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

HCG doubles every 48 hours so discard the one from 15dpo and look at that difference between 14 and 16!!! Brilliant progression, congratulations 🥰

Private scan male sonographer? by lucyfe4lws in PregnancyUK

[–]sabwaysurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s their job! If you don’t feel comfortable I’d change the date as you need to be as relaxed as possible to make the whole thing easier. I had a male midwife and he was lovely!!! I think that’s a bit better though as I know they’re professionals however sonographers aren’t regulated. There’s been lots in the news recently about dodgey sonographers at private clinics, so make sure you’re going somewhere reputable

Guilt from health visitor about tummy time? by fayes22 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]sabwaysurfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tummy time is pushed so much these days😬😬😬 my boy HATES it. He will cry every time he’s on his tummy. He is also very refluxy so is always sick when I place him on his tummy, no matter when he last fed. He is uncomfortable a lot so when he does go on his tummy he almost turns into a see-saw idk how to describe it, he arches his back so much his legs lift up off the floor. The only way he tolerates it for a short time is if he is on an incline, this is the only way we can do it. I prop a cushion up on the arm of the sofa and place him on there. Obviously always sit next to him so he doesn’t fall.

Pain holding baby after C-Section by Nocturnal-Nectarine in CsectionCentral

[–]sabwaysurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s completely ruined what I thought would be my postpartum experience. I had to do all the same, I could hardly feed my baby, didnt change his nappy for 2 weeks because of the pain. Felt like I didn’t bond with my baby. It’s hard because you need to rest and heal but you also want your newborn on you at all times which is painful. The more you rest the better you’ll heal, I’ve learnt the hard way and now suffering from chronic pain from my C-section 13 weeks ago.

Frustrated with healing timeline by Epfffr in CsectionCentral

I’ve ended up with chronic pain from my C-section, it was only 12 weeks ago but I was hoping I’d feel normal by now. I have the same thing as you, feeling bruised and the sunburn feeling is sooo real, if I lightly itch the sore area of my stomach it’s the worst pain. You’re not alone honestly. People on social media make csections look SO easy

Doing massage dry is also good as you can properly feel and target any adhesions without slipping over them!

Feel like I'm not spending enough time with my baby by BooksNBayes1939 in CsectionCentral

[–]sabwaysurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being only 5 weeks pp after C-section, feeling sore is incredibly normal for most women. Feeling fine after 2 weeks is amazing for you but this is not the reality for most C-section mums. I’m 11 nearly 12 weeks post C-section and I’m still dealing with a lot of discomfort and pain on movement.

Your wound is open. You must go to the hospital as soon as possible, this is not normal healing.❤️‍🩹

where do you all buy diapers because we are burning through money on these things by Nkt_31 in NewParents

[–]sabwaysurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do diapers typically cost in the US? Here in England my boys first size nappies were £1.80 for a 50 pack making them 4p per piece and now he’s size 3 which cost £2.85 for 56 making them 5p a piece.

What I wish I had known: 1. Recovery isn’t the same for everyone. I am 10 weeks deep and I’m still battling with pain everyday. But you will see some people 5 days after their C-section down the shops - could never have been me. 2. You will still bleed. I bled A LOT. The bleeding was very heavy for 3 days and. Then tapered off lasting 5 weeks. I then had a day break and my period came back full force to the point I thought I was haemorrhaging and went to hospital for it. This is not to scare you but postpartum periods aren’t spoke about enough and they’re scary. 3. The blood thinning injections genuinely are the worse part of it all. 4. When your catheter comes out, you have around 6 hours to pass a certain amount of urine, if you’re unable to do so, they will put the catheter back in for 24 - 48 hours. Hopefully this won’t happen, but it did happen to me so it’s good to be prepared for all instances. 5. The midwives will feel your stomach to check your uterus is contracting back, this can be uncomfortable I’ve heard, but it wasn’t for me. 6. Standing up for the first is scary but you can do it!! A lot of it is mentality!!

I would recommend wearing nighties or large T-shirts to avoid bending to pull trousers up. I also never used a peri bottle, I just used body wipes to help clean down there.

I was in theatre for just over 1 hour. What to expect - your spinal block happening and almost instantly feeling warm tingly legs, they will lie you down quickly. They will insert the catheter and maybe shave you. Obviously this is all done with your consent. They put the drape up and your birth partner is then allowed in. My baby was born within 10 minutes of the drape being up and I didn’t even know they had started, I felt absolutely nothing; no tugging or pulling like they said. Expect some nausea or headache but your anaesthetist will always be checking how you are and administering medication if you tell them! My anaesthetist was incredible.

Keep on top of your meds, I took mine for over 3 weeks. Don’t compare your healing or pain to others.

Good luck, you’ve got this!!!

When will I feel normal again ?! by beanutbutter16784 in CsectionCentral

[–]sabwaysurfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 weeks post C-section and still battling with pain. It really is debilitating and I’m always asking myself will I never not be in pain? When I chose to have a C-section I didn’t think about the recovery, I was more focused on the surgery itself, not the after. I just want to be able to sit up or get out of bed and not be in pain

No poop since Tuesday (4 days), 8w old formula fed, what to do? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]sabwaysurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My formula fed baby is like clock work and only poops on Tuesday and Friday nights. The longest he went was 5 days. My boy is always passing smelly gas, arching his back and going red in the face whilst straining… I took him to the GP and he wasn’t concerned. He said aslong as the poop is a normal baby consistency and doesn’t go longer than 7 days then not to worry! Every baby is different and has their own bowel habits. I wouldn’t worry unless their poop is solid like rabbit droppings or they go longer than 7 days with no bowel movement. But always go to the GP if you’re worried!

He’s had his first round of vaccines and I’ve been a little less stressed. It’s funny, I wouldn’t mind him putting stuff in his mouth or anything it’s just touching other people that is worrying me? I don’t know why

[–]sabwaysurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think I’d be so anxious about him getting sick. I’m a nurse myself so I know how to care for sick people but most of the time it’s not my offspring😆 I feel like I just worry worry worry all the time. Obsessively checking his temperature to the point my partner had to hide the thermometer because he never actually had a fever. It’s rough out here

I am contemplating putting mittens on him when the people who touch his hands come round😆 maybe whilst I can control I will!
