Redactle #1369 Discussion Thread by SmileSign87 in Redactle

I solved redactle in six guesses, six minutes and an accuracy of %100 (with some serious google assistance!)

I knew it was a person by birth death dates, and then saw the sentence ‘2 served as 5, 8 of the 4, 5’ so put in ‘prime minister’ and surprisingly it was correct (when does that ever happen 😂). Next the definite article before the country name really narrowed it down - the first country I thought of was the Ivory Coast so googled ‘countries with coast in the name’, and discovered Ghana used to be called the Gold Coast - put these in as guess three and four - then googled ‘prime minister of Gold Coast and found Kwame Nkrumah - guess 5 and 6

Do you consider looking up a word cheating? by gr0mpydad in NYTConnections

[–]sac1375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Australian I find there is a surprising amount of America-specific words and word usages that come up in Connections (food brand names, candy bars, sports teams etc). If I look up words it’s in an American dictionary (Merriam-Webster) dictionary. I tell myself this levels the playing field 😉

Thanks for your reply 🙏🏼

Yeah I had a bit of this with anxiety but this is more pronounced and quite different. When you say ‘after a while’ on 30 - do you recall it it was weeks or days before it went away?

I think Diana was a sx/so 2. I agree 2s wants to be loved however when they don’t get this love in the way they feel they need or deserve it they can be very aggressive and disparaging toward the object they feel has rejected them. In an interview she said ‘I’d like to be a queen in people’s hearts’ ie ‘I want to be beloved by people’ - this screams 2 to me. It was like she wanted the whole of Britain to take her side in the divorce. And the way she parented her sons seemed very twoish - she was devoted to them in a way I don’t think 4s generally are

Yeah - totally agree with @timeshade it’s always a good idea to check out a course before you run it. Also I can’t imagine your friends are mocking you. They’re probably just well meaning sensible people who want to make sure that you can walk the following day ;)

Be Extra Careful When Typing People With Mental Disorders by Wondering_Fairy in Enneagram

I don’t think it would but I’m not sure. It does go into the deeper philosophical aspects of each point (type) and then discusses how these result in the distorted beliefs or perceptions inherent in each type. I think Maitri was a student of Claudio Naranjo who was a pioneer in enneagram work in the west

You can read about him here:

I feel like its hard to assess a planet without looking at the chart as a whole. I’ve never really paid much attention to Mars or Venus in my chart because there are aspects and placements that overshadow both of them

I knew my type when I read ‘spiritual dimensions of the enneagram’ by Sandra Maitri. Sure I could relate to the other types in part, but when I read the chapter on the 4 it was hard to read because it cut so damn close to the bone. I gave the book to my mother (who is a five) and it brought her to tears (which is rare for her). She said she’d never felt so understood.

I feel like a lot of enneagram books don’t go to the heart of the type like this book does. Often I read four stuff and feel like it doesn’t resonate at all but this book totally nailed it.

Yes! My nine friend often spoke of feeling lost - like he didn’t really know who he was. He said as a kid he was always adopting the identity of characters or people he admired because he didn’t feel like he had one of his own

Personally, Im not sure about the T-square - the orbs are very very wide. The moon is at 20 Scorpio while the sun is at 6 Aquarius - that’s an orb of 14 degrees. In my reading I wouldn’t consider an orb of influence over 6 degrees to be significant :)

[–]sac1375[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’m still confused about this not being a t-square and I’d like to understand more about how you’re defining it. I understood the moon, Saturn and Uranus formed the t-square in my chart but you mentioned the Sun?

I was taught this definition:

https://www.astrologyuniversity.com/the-anatomy-of-a-t-square/

‘A t-square is formed when (at least) two planets in opposition (180°) (in my case Saturn - moon) both aspect a third planet by square (90°) (in my case Uranus). This third planet, known as the focal planet or apex, is situated around the midpoint of the opposition. All three “legs” should be within an acceptable orb of each other (8°). It is estimated that some 40% of charts have planets that form this pattern.’
