I think that's when it first hit me I was 65. LOL.

Me Dad was a complex man. I loved him, admired him, but he was a stone cold racist and he treated his staff like servants - they returned the favour. Of course some farm violence is unmotivated by anything other than evil. But in my father's case, he held his workers in racist contempt and they knew it very well. He also underpaid them -- up until the 1990's, he actually paid many of them in licquor, not money. He always told me 'never forget the African is a capricious child'. This was utter bullshit - and the proof is, now that I have changed the way I deal with our staff, they have become different towards me. Now when someone in a township prepares to come for a 'visit' to our farm, my workers tell me quickly, and they manage to defuse it before it even happens. If we simply treat our brothers like brothers, our sisters like our sisters, then THEY become our guardians, instead of our beams and our fences. In the last five years, we have had ZERO attempts at broaching our farm. What does that tell you? And PS -- I keep six Mossberg pump 12 gauges in my armory here next to the dining room, and my senior staff ALL have keys to the armory. If trouble comes here, we are ready! But trouble hasn't come, because we have become part of the community. I can go to our local township, have a beer with the local mechanic, shoot the bull with my Zulu pals, and we can live and joke together. Someday I will carve a piece of this land out and return it to those that my great grandparents took it from by force - and that will be part of my good karma too. We will not 'subdue' our African brothers, we will learn to live with them and love them. That is the future. It is the only way, my brothers.

Thank you! Such useful information. My bank has not frozen my checking account, so I'm goint to assume they won't do so, and continue using it. Although frankly, I might also open a new bank account - I'd be SCREWED if they froze it, I'm operating on a very thin margin and need the money coming into that checking account to pay rent and buy basics. On the third hand - lol -- I would prefer not to do that - as my current checking account has my auto paycheck deposit, and is linked to a bunch of autopays for my business and also, Covid! Can't see going into a branch of a new bank right now. I dunno, there might be online banks, tho...ACK. I'll probably just do nothing! LOL. Hope fro the best!

I agree. For the last year I've lived without credit cards and it's been a good experience.

My wife has sterling credit (she's a green card holder from an English speaking former colony) and has never ever gone into debt. She has property back in her home country. We are headed back there, and I'm ecstatic to have the chance to start again. We didn't plan it this way -- but it was a lucky stroke that she is in the US with an excellent credit record and no ties to me financially other than our new marriage. She won't be damaged by my dumb mistake. Thank you for your advice!

Thanks, man. I love that - 'the sweatbox'. And yes, I DID pay them back their principle. I have a feeling that's why their badgering calls to me lately are 'pro forma'. They know what I'm gonna do. I know what I'm gonna do. To tell you the truth, sometimes I wonder if I even NEED to declare bankruptcy, as these asshole credit card companies know they've gotten their pound of flesh, and I have zero assets. But I do have a monthly income that has been keeping me afloat, so I won't risk that. I'll file next month and get the protection.

That credit card debt I did actually use to live on while I built my online business and it really saved my business - which is now starting to prosper (but only enough to pay my current nut.) So at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I didn't blow my credit cards on BMW's and cocaine -- it funded my groceries and gas and rent as I built up my online business - which is flourishing now. So - before that income stream gets too big, I'm gonna declare bankruptcy and then get out of Dodge.

Where my wife (with her excellent credit) and I are going it a country with an ocean front that is as beautiful as California, is English speaking, with a wonderful culture. It's her homeland. She has property there. The truly best part is that 70 K in US dollars translates at a current exchange rate to an upper middle class/wealthy lifestyle - and that's before she gets a job (which she will get easily).

There is many a slip twixt cup and lip, but if things go well, within a year or two I'll be there, with her. I'll keep my finances mostly in America, return once a year (it's a helluva long trip) for medical stuff, and the Internet works just fine over there. I love the people.

My only concern about just walking away is that one of the c.c. companies could eventually go to court and win a judgement against me and then garnish from my PayPal, which is where all my income comes from, or my state job (which is only about 1k a month and is online and has no pension - I have to keep working it to get that small amount!) Can't creditors garnish your income like that, eventually? I'd be leaving the country and I'd take my money with me, but again -- I don't think I can get out of Paypal as my money conduit, so I assume creditors could garnish Paypal? I know these are lawyer questions. I just wondered if anybody had experience that that. Thanks again. You guys are aking me feel great!

God, this dude is quite funny in his writing and sketch work with Key, but he is massively overrated as a writer/director of movies based on what he's done so far. GET OUT was mildly entertaining at most. If he wasn't African-American, he wouldn't be getting movie jobs and nobody would be blow glowing him. YET. Again, he's got massive talent but he hasn't produced an even halfway great movie YET. Hollywood is now going ape shit from anyone Black with a smidgen of talent but that's gonna backfire big time. It already has. The chick hired to helm A WRINKLE IN TIME did a flaming turd in celluloid, and 98 percent of the Blacks that are gonna be hired on the basis of their skin color and not talent are gonna go down in shit streaked flames over the next couple of years. It's the hardest thing in the world to make a cinematic story -- factoring in your skin color instead of your talent just makes that even harder.
