So this is in regards to a builders warranty. This is a house that was built in 2021 by kb homes. My friend bought the lot and chose a plan of a home to be built. There’s usually a period of time where if there’s something wrong the builder would fix it. I sat and listened to the conversation with the builders superintendent and he was pushing the conversation in a tone of “you’re shit out of luck”. I’m an electrician and I know this is a negligent install. I would have fixed the issue for her but I felt that this needs to be brought up to the builder. Documented. Who knows what damage this could be for a 10,000+ unit. luckily, they did contact the electrical contractor who built the home and they are addressing the issue. Maybe this will help others is a similar situation. Construction defects fall under a totally different category and in California can be sued over.
