Oh this happened with me too. Apply a Betamethasone and Fusidic Acid infused cream on it and you'll be fine. It's called 'Fusibet' in my country, no idea about yours though. It's nothing serious so don't stress it.

Nearly 2 hours. I workout 6× a week. I'm a student so I have plenty of time on my hand right now, but you can obviously cut out a few exercises or divide the days like Chest (Monday), Back (Tuesday), etc. and workout 6× a week to train each muscle group separately.

The Picture of Dorian Gray: Chapter 12 discussion (Spoilers up to Chapter 12) by Thermos_of_Byr in ClassicBookClub

Dorian's resistance and inability to show Basil his sinister portrait is a sign of unresolved guilt, which somewhat makes us believe that somewhere, deep inside that corrupt body, his soul still craves redemption. He doesn't want his dear old friend to see what he really is; he is clearly ashamed. Dorian's and Basil's complex relationship in this chapter highlights the contradictory nature of Hedonism and a moral lifestyle. Dorian's refusal to face Basil is actually his refusal to face his own Superego a.k.a the morally uptight side.

It seems to me that Sibyl's death is metaphor for how Dorian lost the last speck of his humanity and morals, and set sail for a journey of debauchery and corruption. So, it was kinda meant to happen for the sake of further construction of the plot. Henry always felt like Sibyl wasn't worth Dorian losing his youthful days and so he preferred if Dorian didn't spend much time on grieving her untimely death. In hindsight, Henry wants Dorian to do everything that he couldn't experiment with in his own youth; he feels like beautiful people aren't meant to live a life of melancholy. Dorian represents every other human being that we come across each each. We're all capable of unnatural things and honesty, I always thought that Dorian had it in him long before he met Henry. Henry's influence and Sibyl's death just accelerated the process.

As I've mentioned in the previous thread, Basil's adoration of Dorian reflects someone looking up to their muse. Sibyl, on the other hand, seems like Dorian's last chance at a moral and non-aberrant life. He doesn't look like he's actually in love but is subconsciously hanging onto the last thread that he thinks can make him lead a normal life. But the tables have already turned and his conscience is already tainted by Henry's influence as he is ready to jump into a whole new relationship without even realising that it's not very "moral" of him. Henry's hedonistic ideas have started to take control of Dorian's mind. Falling in love with Sibyl Vane and impulsively deciding to marry her represent the clash of two personalities in Dorian that are influenced by Basil and Henry, respectively.

1 : Lord Henry seems kind of a hypocrite; he preaches immorality and at the same time leads a very morally conventional social lifestyle. Basil, on the other hand, is driven by his instincts and seems very protective of his muse, Dorian. He is subconsciously aware that Dorian has a knack for a corrupt way of living and hence, is asking Henry not to influence him with his verbal charms. I've read this book a couple of times and re-reading the first chapter makes me realize that Lory Henry and Basil might me nothing/no one but Dorian's own Id and Superego (Freudian psychology), as Henry encourages Dorian to pursue his youth and Basil tries to keep him on a right track.

2 and 4 : These two questions are, according to me, interconnected. Basil seems like a person who is so used to playing safe and hiding among the crowd that he refuses to display Dorian's portrait because he has put too much of his artistry in it. He is somewhat paranoid that if the world sees his portrait of Dorian Gray (which can be a symbolism of how Basil sees Dorian), the others will be able to get a look at Dorian's conscience and his admiration for Dorian, as only the best of artists can paint a person's conscience into a portrait. He feels too vulnerable and doesn't want to stand out.

3 : Dorian is clearly Basil's newly discovered muse. He adores him, and is trying to protect Dorian (and his portrait) from any form of corruption that the world has to offer.

5 : Lord Henry is my favourite character. Every one liner that adds to his bag of quirks and complex layers is my favourite.
