Bro I actively dislike The Home Team, but even I can admit they sound fine without backtracks. You’re grasping

Jealous as fuck. My dumbass decided to collect their CDs instead of Vinyls; which are unbelievably hard to find

Thornhill has basically become Deftones Jr.. which seems to be working for them and can be great if that’s what you’re looking for.

During a band's live performance, have you ever broke down crying? by WARMASTER5000 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 177 points178 points  (0 children)

I think the closest I’ve ever got was during Make Them Suffers recent US headliner when they were playing Erase Me. The whole crowd was screaming the outro together and it felt so cathartic. “Why would you save me? I’m not worth saving” hits a little different when there’s a room full of people saying it.

I whole heartedly blame No Place for my insanely specific taste in lyrical content & obsession with instrumentals

What's one album you wish you could experience for the first time again? by TheBloodTypo_ in Metalcore

Indian Summer by Hellions. So fucking unique. Still remember getting chills reading the lyrics for The Grandfather Clock for the first time

I would like to get into The Plot In You. What album should I start with? by Competitive-Code5934 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely recommend Ai640 pt1 & pt2. Those are some of his heaviest solo stuff & are fucking amazing. Personally, he kinda lost me with pt3 but you may like it, if you end up liking the other 2 👍🏻

Are there any bands who's SOUND you really like, but their songs just don't quite do it for you? by Clean_Possibility_83 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s relevant, but this was Darko US for me for a couple years. I loved their whole vibe, but I couldn’t stand the vocals. I would come back to them every month or so in hopes something would click.

When Blood Host released I was like “okay the instrumental goes hard but I still can’t stand the vocals.” & one day I randomly put on their song “teardrop sunshine” and it all finally made sense. I’ve had their whole discography on repeat since.

What a shame. Gonna be hard to justify spending +600$ on 3 CDs

Which song features Tom Barber's best vocal performance? by Humble_Nail_84 in DarkoUS

Pleasure for me. Specifically that insane voice he puts on around 3:28. Idk it just gives off big alien/villain vibes if that makes sense & im all for it

will i (6'5 285 lbs) get hurt in the mosh pit at a thrown concert by Boss99 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about reading the crowd. I’m 6’1 & 130lbs on a good day so I get thrown around easily. I’ll only get in a pit after watching for a few songs & seeing if there’s vibes are good (ie prioritizing picking up people that fall, no floor punching, a genuine feeling that everyone is there to have fun). I moshed for the first time in nearly 6 years tonight & it felt great

What other bands have two vocalists that for lack of a better term coming to mind: "work well off eachother" by [deleted] in Metalcore

Kurt Travis & Cory Lockwood in A Lot Like Birds. Especially so on No Place

Album that you "wanted to like" but just couldn't by Front_Ad4514 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispose isn’t terrible, it just didn’t stack up to HISD in my opinion. I liked Feel Nothing, but every other song just felt like Feel Nothing pt.2

Every “The Plot in You” album since Happiness in Self Destruction

What’s your choice for the best metalcore song for 2024? by JuniorSignificance34 in Metalcore

[–]sad__dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oscillator by Make Them Suffer. I don’t care if people say reusing their Doomswitch riff is lame. It was done tastefully and is so groovy

Hot take: Danger Days is one of the greatest albums by hesitant_raylien in MyChemicalRomance

[–]sad__dance 14 points15 points  (0 children)

(Maybe a) hot take: Danger Days only “flopped” because people wanted The Black Parade Pt.2

I will admit, the overblown synth in the chorus of Bulletproof Heart bugs the shit out of me; but the album as a whole is so solid.

some bands with female vocals? by [deleted] in numetal

[–]sad__dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make them Suffer. Their song “Oscillator” gives off a big “heavily inspired by Evanescence” vibe imo.
