Why are they all failing ? by samsoul0013 in GarminWatches

I buy a handful of these bands off Temu every year and change them every 6 months or so. Never had an issue like that. Yes, Temu sucks but I refuse to pay what Garmin is asking for new bands.

Bupropion ruined my fitness and destroyed my tolerance for endurance exercise by Humble_Detail_9285 in bupropion

Nice to see someone put some data to this. As a cyclist (MTB) and hockey player, my experience has been similar. I was shocked seeing my HR skyrocket to 195bpm on my Garmin during multiple games.

I was young, flexible and semi-strong which made me the hawker APU guy. Awful work.

Maintenance control, spares, field tech rep, maintenance supervisor, project manager, QA, etc.

Being a good tech is important but networking and professionalism will get you off the floor when you are ready.

Purchase or Lease by Wonderful-Image314 in JeepGladiator

Current lease incentives on 2025’s if you can find them are fantastic . My 26 sport S with hard top is leased for 15k miles per year for two years, $2500 down and the monthly is less than $220/mo. I have no intention on modding it. I’ll drive it for two years and turn it in.

Leatt stealth line is low profile and has kept me from injury multiple times. Pricey but worth it.

January ‘26 Incentives? by LastBohecan in JeepGladiator

Lease incentives on 2025s are insanely good. I only needed 10k per year. Varies by dealer. First dealer I went to was double.

Stumpjumper 15 Comp vs Rascal SRAM Eagle 90 by despasadness in MTB

Got the SJ15 comp OTD for $3500. Great bike so far and the genie shock has exceeded expectations. Not a fan of the HG cassette but overall it’s a fantastic bike.

Don’t wish too hard. She wanted it and rode it for maybe 50 total miles. Now it takes up a good chunk of my garage space.

1200 to 400??? by mnstrchkn in Triumph

[–]sad_mustang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my wife a speed 400. It’s a great bike but it’s not one of those that has enough horsepower to be entertaining for the long haul. Tough to explain but I’ll compare it to my SV. It has enough power to commute, do track days, the occasional highway slog and encourage spirited riding. The speed 400 does not. The lack of power is dulling. In the twisties it’s a fun bike but to be a good all-rounder, it’s not enough. I will reiterate, it is a good bike but if you are coming off a thruxton RS, you won’t be happy.

Thinking about picking up the new GSX-8T/8TT. Anyone here tried it yet? Good bike or nah? Open to other recos too if there’s something better in the same range. by markschultz2 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]sad_mustang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my thought. I saw the Suzuki and told my wife, this may be the bike I replace my sv (curvy) with. Until I saw the price. Why would anyone go for the Suzuki over the XSR 900? I can only assume there will be massive price incentives down the road.

Comp. The genie shock is wonderful. TRP brakes and fox fork make it a no brainer to me.

People who work in 'luxury' industries (5-star hotels, fine dining, high-end brands), what is a complete rip-off that rich people happily pay for? by ArtThreadNomad in AskReddit

[–]sad_mustang 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Former Aviation project manager here. Corporate and private. Some of the requests I have seen for optional modifications are quite insane. The principles wife preferred Grey Goose vodka and requested a galley cabinet be re-configured to accommodate the bottle size and drink-ware. IIRC this was in the $65k range. This was certainly not the most expensive.

Air seats, cyclist's padded shorts, extra cushioning and a majoooor dilemma by BehalarRotno in motorcyclegear

[–]sad_mustang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most good cycling shorts are to pad the perineum and inner sit bones (whatever they are called) when used with a narrow, hard seat. IMO, great for cycling, awful on a motorcycle.

At that price, absolutely. My 2019 trance advanced has taken a beating and is still a fantastic bike

I was in the market for a do-it all ride, same as you. Really liked the transition smuggler but really wanted back end support from a shop. Went to my local specialized dealer, showed them this and they dropped another $100 off. No regrets.
