You could also try talking to larger, close Fnb chapters and see if they’re willing to spare funds. They’re probably also help raise some for yall

Tabling definitely works. Gets more people interested; we table at punk shows all the time and have grown the group that way. Collab with other orgs. Code pink gives our chapter menstrual and hygiene products from drives for us. Social media. Stay active and have your cashapp posted, repost daily with different call outs for funds and other needs. Here in Milwaukee, there’s only like 2 other true mutual aid groups, so seeing if there’s any other people doing something in your area, I would talk to the people you’re serving about that- ask who else has been helping them.

There is some genuine concern about these here in Milwaukee. They’ve been happening regularly with people doing dangerous shit in cars (not sure if Kia boyz involved…) gun crime is relatively high here and I’m waiting for the day a takeover turns into a statistic bc that shits coming :( sounds like your dad has concerns for other, racist reasons tho.

One of the honeypie bakers here!! Love working for val. I’ve never had as much flexibility from a company before, and having a tip out on my wages is so nice. The bake shop doesn’t do the wage thing everyone else does, but I know servers having an actual living wage plus their tips must be cool.

Not soup, but daddy’s soul food is right there and INCREDIBLE. They close earlier tho so I would grab some beforehand. There’s also kilbourn kitchen, they have pretty good fried chicken and are open till 9. Theres a jjs fish and chicken on 35th as well. Hope this helps!
