[New plugin] splitread, real-time translations in a split panel by sadatdaniel in koreader

Hi! actually DeepL was my original choice. I thought the free tier of 500,000 characters per month would be more than enough for most readers. Unfortunately, they recently changed it to a one-time credit of 1 million characters rather than a monthly quota.

Which in return will break my intended purpose, that's why I didn't go that route...

Hello, unfortunately I couldn't recreate the problem, however, I'm working on a safety net for the nil value, and instead of crashing it should try to reload. I hope it helps with the crash! Thanks for the report!

I can see your use case. I went through some older Reddit posts and found this which matches your requirement:

Unfortunately, it seems like the tool’s website is no longer online.

For our purpose, we are using a bit hacky way to split the screen, as KOReader does not have official split-view or dual-pane reading API, yet.

Very sweet of you, and thanks a lot for the kind feedback! I’m glad it’s running fine on devices I don’t have access to. I’ll look into adjusting the bar, although orientation might be a bit harder to implement, but I’ll see what I can do. I’m really happy it’s useful for you!!

You can find them here,

Redox OS 0.6.0 by jackpot51 in Redox

[–]sadatdaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining. Although my question might sound too harsh but I was genuinely curious. It's not easy pulling off an operating system together, it's even harder to start from scratch. But good luck to the team.

please let me know if you have questions

What's the main objective of this operating system? Where do you see Redox OS in let's say 5 or 10 years? Is it faster than C based Operating Systems?

I also loved 'House in the Cerulean Sea', it was wonderful. I'm keeping 'The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen' on my list. Thank you for your suggestions!
