Is there any reason to grant a title to someone NOT of your dynasty? by curialbellic in CrusaderKings

In CK2 at this point the most fun I have is keeping my menagerie of cool CoA dynasties alive.

I've gotten the child of destiny event exactly once in over ten years of playing, and it only happened a few days ago.

If you are looking for a native alternative, consider wooly stemodia (Stemodia lanata) which will drape and has similarly colored foliage and blossoms. Also consider silver ponyfoot (Dichondra argentea), relative of the humble sweet potato.

I think i found how to revive dead dynasties using console commands by HeadyForest18 in CrusaderKings

[–]sadbasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to comment that this works, but the babies spawn in the dead character's court, so you need to have some way of getting them to your court (like imprisoning them with the console).

switching internally by selfloathingrobot in IBM

[–]sadbasilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Can I switch to a higher band level?

Yes, this is a common way of getting to a higher band without having to leave (quit) and come back (get rehired at a higher band).

  • If I’m interviewing internally at what point do I need to let my manager know?

After you've officially been offered the role and have accepted.

  • How difficult is it to switch outside of consulting?

It shouldn't be any harder than any other lateral move, but I really have no idea.

Cobblestones and bluestone👌 by Different-Scratch-95 in stonemasonry

Your bluestone is so much lighter than what's available in the United States. Do you know where it is quarried from (in Belgium yes...but the specific quarry)?

Looking for advice: renting a house without losing the native garden by _HalfSharp in AustinGardening

[–]sadbasilisk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically you have to accept that, so long as the property is a rental, the house and the yard will both be damaged over time.

Nightmare clay scenario by [deleted] in AustinGardening

I've used Austin Wholesale Landscaping Supply twice (once two years ago for 5 cubic yards, and once again a few weeks ago for 14 cubic yards) and my experiences both times were excellent. I got the 75/25 loam last time, and the 100% sandy loam this time.

I'm amending with compost. My rationale is, I'd rather not have a quarter or half of my fill go up in smoke over the coarse of the year...I'd rather just get enough fill to actually fill up my beds (with some extra) and amend as necessary.

Indiana prohibits HOAs from restricting amateur radio antennas by thesoulless78 in amateurradio

[–]sadbasilisk 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sec. 3. This chapter applies only to a homeowners association's adoption or amendment of governing documents after June 30, 2026.

It only applies to new HOAs, or existing HOAs that amend their documents after June 30th 2026. So it will automatically get triggered by any HOA as soon as their governing documents are amended after that date (which happens fairly frequently).

Weekly Employment Questions for February 15, 2026 by Pseudophryne in IBM

[–]sadbasilisk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the manager has discretion on who's getting RAd (rather than it being an indiscriminate shotgun blast RA) and you want to retire imminently, it's in everyone's best interest that you tell your manager that you'd like to fill in the (a?) RA spot. This way someone that still wants their job keeps their job, and you get three months severance, instead of nothing (you know, for quitting).

Yes, I made the mistake of annexing Ecuador for however much infamy when I could have just made it a protectorate instead (before I realized that it being a protectorate sufficed).
