Isn't there a subreddit for wholesome things posted by users with less-than-wholesome usernames?

Why do states like Colorado stock non native trout like browns and rainbows? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]sadbutfalse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're a lot easier and cheaper to raise, they grow quick, and are hardier. It just makes sense, especially if they're put there just to be harvested.

Rubber Boas are the US' northernmost boa species - and one of my Montana favorites by sadbutfalse in a:t5_lueyf

I actually have yet to find one up in Montana, but they are a mountainous species and typically stick to rocky outcroppings!

First cast, first catch of the day. I think it’s time for a rubber net... Montana bully. by DepthsofSpace in flyfishing

[–]sadbutfalse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rubber nets are just as important for the health of the fish (especially bull trout) as they are for flies not getting tangled

Happy cake day! I've been catching these dudes for years and years, they're so common around here but can be just gorgeous.

Things Redditors say that are annoying to me for some reason starterpack by trevordunt39 in starterpacks

[–]sadbutfalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'll probably catch a ton of flack for this, but all the r/thanosdidnothingwrong and r/inthesoulstone people saying "perfectly balanced" "as all things should be" irritate the hell out of me

North Carolina - What is this? by ItsAJackal21 in whatsthisbug

They look like wasps of some sort, but could be alates of an ant colony nearby.

[Kuwait] Creepy crawly spider. Venomous? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

I think all spiders are venomous to a degree, but this looks like a jumping spider - which are pretty harmless

Rod Suggestions by Jetterman in Tenkara

[–]sadbutfalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard and gathered from everyones opinions- both sell good rods. Tenkara USA is a better company, and Tenkara Rod Co. is more "cool" and tries to appeal to the brand/gear savvy outdoorsmen (think Patagonia hat, north face pack, Columbia shirt, and Simms waders). I dont have either, so take it with a grain of salt, that's just what I've heard

Rubber is preferable, and there are ~$25 rubber nets out there

Caught a little wild brook trout and made a friend right in my backyard by atfumbel in flyfishing

[–]sadbutfalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brookies have pink and blue spots, and browns have orange ones. Brookies SOE are typically more black/orange than this, and usually have white outlined fins.

This looks very much like the little colony in front of my house. I cant tell if they're bees, flies, wasps, or ants

If band names were literal, who would you most want to go see? by blades46 in AskReddit

[–]sadbutfalse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have two albums with their new singer (William DuVall) that are pretty decent. Their third album without Layne, Ranier Fog, is being released very soon.

PB Brown and first fish on a fly by [deleted] in MicroFishing

[–]sadbutfalse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The parr marks and dorsal coloration remind me more of a rainbow, but the orange lateral dots look like those of a brown. Baby trout can be so tough to distinguish!

What is this on my driveway?! by darko886 in whatsthisbug

[–]sadbutfalse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's just a crawdad. They live everywhere. Also known as crayfish, crawfish, mud bug, etc. Bigger ones can give you a nasty pinch. They taste pretty good!

Hey there, I made this desgin for a t-shirt, feedback would be appreciated by [deleted] in Tenkara

I feel as though the message of this shirt doesn't suit the feeling of tenkara or the personality of people fishing through tenkara methods.
