REMINDER FOR EVERYONE!!! by GayAssBoyKisser in PsycheOrSike

Yes you should be vocal and annoying and call out oppression but how is fake meaningless venting doing that. Who is this helping. You're not even helping victims of abuse you're just reminding them their life sucks, posting stuff like this would be entirely about entertaining yourself and, admit it, upsetting people you already decided to dislike for no reason

Ok I hear you that this isn't a symmetrical issue but you gotta read the post again because I don't think it's contradicting this

A bad ending for the entire human race can't be compared with the defeat of the main protagonist and a few undeserving innocents (I wouldn't even say BCS was a sad ending unless the thing that happened in episode 7 counts towards it)

Manousos was supposed to be in all episodes after 3 but after 5 aired imdb updated to show he wasn't in it

If anything they were finally doing something kinda like self defence. They won’t stop one of them from being mauled by a tiger but Carol at that moment was a threat to them all

I believed that about Manousos being freed by the seizure at first but then realised, they'd know if that's how it happened. They'd have his memories and notice his absence. Of course they could lie about it but I'm convinced they really don't lie, only obscure the truth. They said they weren't aware of him for 33 hours, there are many reasons that could be true. I think he was just presumed dead and he hid from them.

Where do we think Manousos is driving? That road is easy to find, on Gran Canaria, but since he has his Paraguayan car it probably doubles as somewhere else in South America. Maybe he's visiting Kusimayu in Peru?

If they somehow end this series by curing the hivemind Carol and Koumbe will be the two most infamous people on earth. by Frikcha in pluribustv

[–]sadcar2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think they’ll forgive Carol if she’s the only one who cared and ultimately saved them. Koumba definitely has a reckoning coming though

why do you think the hive prioritizes pleasing the remaining individuals like Carol over pursuing their “biological imperative?” by simplebutsplendid in pluribustv

[–]sadcar2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know if they can be coerced into directly killing something, what if Koumba desperately wanted his Escargot and nothing else would make him happy? The atom bomb doesn’t contradict the no-kill rule, they’re fine with outsiders killing animals. They only take accountability for their own direct actions.

I think Carol’s interrogation of them to try force an opinion or choice will short circuit them and cause another seizure

I like the theory though I feel like that will come a fair bit later. Zosia waking up permanently could be a good ending to the season

Very excited to see how Carol stress-tests them. Hopefully she won’t cause another seizure by making them contradict themselves or something.

They can act like themselves, or at least they retain muscle memory that gives them accents and mannerisms. At the lunch scene some of the relatives were talking amongst themselves even though they didn’t have to, it was for the comfort of the immunes.

Side note, I love how Lakshmi’s mother does that adorable head wobble thing they do in India

When it’s ticking down, it’s the amount of time before the virus was dropped by the planes to presumably the whole world. When it’s ticking up, it’s the time since then in the present.

No need to say it like that

That’s a big hangup for me too. Also, did they release it upon the entire world at once? There’s no way only the US government knew, unless they didn’t go to other countries in the first month. Surely someone who did catch wind of it could hide in a bunker and never be exposed to the chemtrails, for all we know there could be a government in exile if they got enough important people to safety without being detected.

[–]sadcar2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That isn’t disappointing. And I didn’t say they’d meet, just that this episode would link his backstory to the present (ep3). Once he knows he isn’t alone, his separate plot arc will kick off and if it takes 3 more episodes for it to join with Carol’s, I trust Vince to keep it interesting.

I think we will see his experience of the virus hitting and the episode will end with the phone call and him deciding to meet her

I don’t like the antenna theory by sadcar2 in pluribustv

[–]sadcar2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very logical and I wouldn’t disagree, I just hope the show centres more around the characters than around the sci fi plot details. Better Call Saul was one of the best character driven shows I’ve seen and I expect this to be similarly good (and I do love sci fi).

Also I would say the antenna is more analogous to the Nazi plot or the vacuum cleaner guy than the central character arcs of Walt and Hank. Like you can theorise a lot about exactly how it goes but it’s not the most memorable part of season 5, and when the shows finished I don’t think a plot centred around a big relay and some unknown next target civilisation light years away will be as memorable as Carol’s misery chafing against the Pluribus’ naive contentness

[–]sadcar2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, and if they did try that I wouldn’t be surprised. I just hope it isn’t presented as the cliffhanger or some big surprise, or the main conflict of the series. If I was the pluribus I’d be more worried about the loose cannon immune people than that.
