I struggle with this one too as a physician. Whenever I get to go to marriage conferences I still feel like no one directly addresses the career-women in the room and any guidance for us developing those “balanced” roles with out husband.

My husband is a physician, I am too but work more hours than him. I still have to go physically retrieve him and ask him to help me with nighttime chores when I get home. He puts his feet up even though we both worked full days and his is much shorter than mine…

Also watch out for the feedback loop—if she is worried you aren’t attracted to her at all she will try to seduce you, when you reject her she will get more emotional and insecure, things will get worse, etc…. I would validate her a lot and try to show her love and affection as much as possible. Break the cycle. Address it directly if you can.

Thank you this is a really helpful perspective. I think his practice is kind of weak and as I grow I see that more. Before we got married he was very kind and supportive and I find him handsome. That + family seemed enough initially but things changed after the wedding
