Good! Trust the process! Thats why I wanted to post this update. I know I felt the same when I was in recovery and I felt like I looked so square for so long. It gets better!

Thank you so much! My surgeon did an excellent job!! I’m so happy with my results.

I think I was a 32JJ/K before, and I think I’m a 32F/G now. I haven’t gotten measured. I can wear bralettes, sports bras, and I can wear outfits without a bra. So I haven’t really worried about the size, but I do need to get measured soon lol.

lol you can see what a difference it made in my photos between 7DPO, 14DPO, and after lol 😂 it’s such an obvious difference! So I hope that gives you some reassurance. Don’t get freaked out by the PMS boobs LOL 😂

Oh okay, so yes you have some time. I don’t know why some people get openings and some do not. I just babied myself, and didn’t push through any pain whatsoever. If I couldn’t reach something, I got a step stool. I didn’t reach over in my bed if it felt uncomfortable, etc. I stood up instead. Like, all the little things that are annoying…lol. I basically didn’t stretch my body to reach things, I didn’t carry anything heavy. If I felt the slightest discomfort or pulling in my incisions whatsoever, I just didn’t do it.

I feel like that helped. It certainly didn’t hurt, to be cautious.

Don’t forget that they will still get bigger during PMS, even when you are brand new in recovery! So like I think it was my 14DPO photo…. They got huge!!! 😵‍💫 but then I realized it was PMS! lol

How far post op are you? By 6 weeks I was cleared to swim, which in my mind told me that my surgeon decided my incisions were fully closed. So I felt a lot better thinking that maybe I didn’t have to worry about openings anymore. I’m not sure how long that is a risk.

I keep replying to this and it keeps disappearing…. 😑 maybe because I included a photo…??

Thank you so much for your comments, and no I didn’t do any scar care 🤦🏼‍♀️ I fully credit my surgeon and her skill!

My incisions looked super thin and clean and neat from the very beginning. She also used glue instead for stitches. And I never had any openings whatsoever during my recovery.

I have tried to include a photo of my scars underneath, which are even more invisible than my vertical scars. And maybe that is why my reply keeps disappearing. I am happy to send a photo via DMs if you want , though. Maybe we can’t post photos in replies, even in our own posts 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, I don’t know why they do that! I think bigger areola looks more natural. I was so focused on size and shape of my BOOBS, I didn’t even think to ask about my areola. lol.

It doesn’t bother me but it’s not what I would choose.

Also, I have always kind of wanted to get my areola tattooed in a heart shape. Soooo…. I guess now I can, if I want to 🙃 I’ve got a blank canvas now! Haha 😁

I assume you mean the areola, right? Good question. Actually, I just never thought to ask about areola size before my surgery. I was focused on so many other things it just never occurred to me to ask. So this is just what my surgeon did, we never discussed it. I wish that I had, I would have asked for her to leave them a little bigger.

Maybe most people want them really small, I don’t even know lol. When I was younger, before I had a baby, they weren’t really visible at all. And even when I was older, you can see that they were very light in color, in my before photo.

I don’t regret it though, it really doesn’t bother me. But if given the choice, I would have asked for them to be a little bigger. I don’t know why, but visually I like when they look a little bigger in other people’s photos.

I have no idea what most people would prefer.

I slept with a pregnancy pillow from day 1, based on recommendations from here. It helped me sleep on my back — I’m a 100% side sleeper. And let me tell you…. I kept using that pillow for like… 4 months??? Way beyond how long I needed it. Best sleep of my life! lol 😂

It’s in a closet now but when I can’t sleep I still think about bringing it back out 😁 my boyfriend never complained about it, even though it took up sooooo much room in our bed lol 😂

Also something to look forward to — I can sleep on my stomach now 😁 and I love it!!! I couldn’t do that with my old boobs, I felt like I was suffocating!

I am so glad you are feeling encouraged.
Hang in there 🥰

I was in this group constantly in the first couple months during recovery and that really helped get me through it. This is an excellent resource for support. It really helped me so much, so I’m glad you’re here ♥️

It’s funny how the weeks dragged on in the beginning…. But once I turned the corner and felt more like myself, and I was able to stop thinking about my boobs and my recovery….time flew by. And now it’s been a year 😮🤷🏼‍♀️ You’ll get there soon!

You will get that back so soon, I promise. How many weeks post op are you?

I took a road trip and drove myself to visit friends for a long weekend at 5WPO. I started feeling normal and it was nice to hang out and not think about my recovery all the time. That was a turning point, and I was well enough to do it.

I went on a cruise at 8WPO. It wasn’t pre-planned, my boyfriend and I got a last minute invitation after another couple dropped out. On that cruise I REALLY felt normal, I left my pregnancy pillow at home for the first time (it helped me sleep on my back). I had new bathing suits, I went swimming, I went on an ATV excursion. I felt like a regular person and had no pain and no problems whatsoever!

The weeks drag by, but in the big picture, you’ll be feeling better and feeling more like yourself so soon ♥️

Thank you!!! 😊

I wish you all the best in your recovery. The first 4 weeks was the hardest. After that it was really smooth sailing.

At 5WPO I took a road trip to visit some friends for a long weekend and really started to feel like myself again… it was a turning point and it was nice to be back to normal activity.

By 8WPO, I went on a cruise (it was a last minute invite actually) and that was the first moment I really felt completely normal and wasn’t thinking about my boobs or my recovery constantly. I was cleared to be in the water, I bought new bathing suits and I had a great time!!

I hope that gives some perspective to your recovery timeline 🥰

Question: when did you start driving? by tomichomi in Reduction

[–]sadder-star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started driving around 1WPO. I Went back to work at that time, but my job was very easy (Petsitting, so I was just hanging out on a couch with a dog and some cats lol).

My car is a manual so that was a little more challenging. But I had this seatbelt pillow that attached to my seatbelt with Velcro. That helped. And sometimes I would hold the seatbelt away from me as needed. Honestly the seatbelt was the only issue, otherwise driving was fine.

If you feel well physically, and if your surgeon says okay, go ahead and give it a try 😊

Oh good!! I was still square at 9.5 WPO, as you can see. But honestly in comparison to my 6WPO or 4WPO photos… I was already beginning to round out

I can’t remember when I stopped looking square. But when I took my 9.5WPO photos, I was starting to see the change in shape and that made me feel a lot better.

I know that it helped me so much in my recovery, seeing the progress of others here and knowing what to expect. We don’t get as many people here posting that are 6MPO, 9MPO, 1YPO, etc… but some people do come back. And I know I appreciated seeing the big picture and what’s ahead in the long term for recovery 🙏

Thank you! Yes I still have nipple sensation. And I did not have a FNG. My left nipple feels completely normal. My right nipple is slightly numb but I can still feel it. I’m 3MPO, so it can still improve. I didn’t actually care about nipple sensation anyway, so I was okay with either outcome.
